Best Greens Around
Played here 4 times already this year and the course is in really good condition I get that we’ve been lucky with the weather recently. It still, the green keepers deserve a Ma toon for their work on the course, eapecislly the greens….all of them are immaculate.
Yes playing off mats isn’t the same as off the tee but the benefits will be rewarded later in the year. Got to be one of the best courses on Wirral (can’t all afford £45-£90 a round at Bromborough, Heswall & Caldy)…for £17.99 it’s an absolute steal! Best course I’ve payed so far this year.
Poor condition
I know there’s been a lot of rain recently but the course was in such poor condition. Tees haven’t been mowed for some time, fairways and the rough are indistinguishable and the cost was £30 each. Needs improvement
Temp tees & greens
We know due to the weather it was going to be wet, however, it would have been nice to have been informed that there was a lot of temp greens on. Also we thought it was a bit expensive for the amount of temp tees and greens. Having said that, would still play the course again
Great course
1st time playing this course, great course, the fairways & green’s where very well maintained,
Will definitely be back
Amazing greens
Considering how much rain we have had recently course had drained really well. The greens were true and really fast. Would definitely recommend
Great little track, played it off whites for first time.. some narrow holes front 9 which you need to be precise off tee.
Greens were immaculate.
Great value
Really enjoyed Bidston, greens were immaculate and possibly best we've played this summer.
Would have liked some clearer signage, especially as novices on course (played once before 15 years ago)
Great test and outstanding value
Great course
For the money this was class, great greens and interesting holes
Excellent course in tip too condition
Fantastic days golf. Course in great condition. Friendly members and golf shop. I’ll be back soon for sure . 10/10
Always beautifully maintained
Play here 4-5 times a year. Always impressed with how well the course is maintained. On this occasion the greens were quicker than usual and I much preferred it. Shot my personal best of 66 -4 this day and I will be back soon!
Happy to play here again
Great course and the ground was perfect. The greens are great too..
16 temp tees 16 temp greens and two holes out of commission
Enjoyable course
Enjoyed my first time playing Bidston. Staff were friendly, course was enjoyable and greens ran nicely. It’s a flat, open course which is rather forgiving and great for novice golfers with not too many hazards. The course is also really easy to get to and is a short distance from the M53. Note there is a public walk path right through the course so be carful to watch out for walkers.
Unfortunately two of the holes were closed for drainage so didn’t get to play all 18. One thing I would like to see some better course signs. There were a couple of times where we didn’t know exactly which hole we were on or where to go next and wasted time walking to the wrong holes.
Will definitely be visiting again and look forward to playing all holes.
Good test in the wind
Travelled over From Liverpool Purchased the round from Golf Now £17.99 bought at 1.00 o’clock was a on course for 2.15 ,2.30 booking
Course was a great challenge greens 8/ 10 tee boxes 6/10 lay out 7/10 pace of play 10/10 overall 8.5/10
,wind played a major factor in round but made the challenge more enjoyable had to think about your shots ,like to see the oob disappear on the front nine no need for them especially for a high handicapper some long hole and some blind tee shots which I like tee boxes could do with a tidy up but minor issue for me not a sole on the course ,so played my one ball but was able to get a bit of practice in which was my main reason for choosing this course basically played two balls ,pro and staff in clubhouse were lovely and managed to shot a good score nett 71 would recommend this course all day long great test well done Bidston and thanks
Fantastic Greens
Although we played Bidston recently in 35mph winds I would recommend the course to anyone. You really have to think and plot your way round. The greens are first class they even have that bit of bounce in them which recent courses I have vised haven't had. The fairways & tees are mowed low and the out of bounds markings and course signs are first class. The only thing that let my experience down was the 19th was well and truely locked up by the time we ended our round (8pm). I would definitely recommend this course and will hopefully return soon and book an earlier tee time to sample a pint.
Played this course following a long period of rain and apart from some temporary tees the course held up well.
Staff were friendly, the course offered value for money my only negative was that the layout was confusing for a first timer (may have been my fault though).
If you want to play a no nonsense, value for money course than I would definitely recommend.
