Bridport gc
This course, for a medium to high golfer, is quite a challenge. It has a mixture of long holes ,medium length holes and short holes but none that you would call easy holes. We really enjoyed ourselves, the views, of the surrounding area, are fantastic. The staff are friendly and helpful, we have played this course several times on our visits to Dorset and will definitely ,healthy and fitness willing, play it again on future visits. We'll done Bridport gc
Wonderful course
Great course, spoilt by slow play and v strong winds
Lovley place to play golf
The course was on top condition. Some brilliant holes with views over the sea. Brilliant place to spend an afternoon.
Amazing day
Beautiful day to play a great course , Took my Son on his first links course we both really enjoyed the day very challenging and great greens
Incredible!
Cant believe how good the condition of the course was in considering the weather recently. No boggyness anywhere, greens incredibly quick. Highly recommend this course to all level golfers. Hole 6….. wow….. say no more. I’ll be back to play this course very soon.
Fantastic winter course
I was and I’m still very impressed with Bridport and West Dorset GC. The course is really interesting and picturesque and the staff were great.
Super slick
Played bridport as visitors this week..course was in excellent condition and the greens were red hot…I have to say they are the best greens I’ve played on all winter and super slick…cracking views and staff in pro shop were very welcoming and chatty…In the words of Arnie “I’ll be back” oh and don’t forget the views they were lovely too..
Bridport on 20th Jan 2022
I have played once before and that was a help knowing the layout, i.e. the next tee but there were some signs advising their location. Due to the conditions we played off mats, these had labels confirming hole number, par and distance - a very nice touch. Ground conditions were not too bad, a little light mud on the surface in places but understandable following recent wet weather. Greens had recently been aerated [slotted] which did reduce their quality in the short term but essential maintenance. Some of the views were outstanding. Clubhouse was closed when we finished which was disappointing, overall very good value for money.
Wonderful day
We couldn’t have picked a better day to play the course. The sun shone and there was no wind. The sea sparkled and the views were stunning and our golf probably suffered from not concentrating enough. After days of rain our course was closed but, here the fairways were firm the greens were fast. We liked the fact that there were only green tees (mats) and they had their own card. The rough wasn’t too long but best not to go in there. Bunkers had been raked and the sand was easy to play out of. The car park was packed but the course didn’t seem busy and we weren’t held up or pushed from behind. Unfortunately because the catering franchise is being renewed we weren’t able to have a beer afterwards but we are really looking forward to returning ASAP. This is definitely a course you need to play again as some of the holes are really difficult to work out first time. Some really fun holes like the 6th. This is a must play course.
Views, challenges, breeze
This course is a great challenge for a golfer of any handicap. With views up and down the Jurassic Coast (utterly breathtaking), the course has well managed fairways and greens. However, keep it on the short stuff - anything into the long rough is hard to find due to its depth and texture. The picturesque 6th is a hole that everyone must play - a short par 3 but with an almighty drop and South West Coast Path then crashing waves to the left. It’s an undulating course so, if you struggle with stamina, take advantage of one of the club’s very reasonably priced buggies. We thoroughly enjoyed playing this course and will DEFINITELY return!
