Buffalo Creek Golf Club
About
Highly touted Buffalo Creek has been praised for its layout, condition, and overall attention to detail. No matter who you talk to in the DFW area, they all seem to praise the superb condition of the course from tee to green. Offering a 7,078-yard par 71 Jay Morrish/Tom Weiskopf design, Buffalo Creek offers a good combination of holes: straight holes, dogleggers, uphill and downhill shots, and both long and short holes.
One of the best features is the club’s method of using a pin location sheet to mark exactly where each pin is located on a particular day (up to six locations), which is unbelievably helpful to hacks who’ve never played the course before and have no feel for the look and contour of the greens.
Getting there : Take I-30 east from Dallas and exit Ridge Rd. Turn right and find the course 1.6 miles down on the left.

Good experience
We got stuck behind a tournament, so pace of play was slow. Other than that, no complaints.
Good challenge from the back tees. Great layout with wide variety of shots required.
Played in early April, the day after 1" of rain. Temp was in the 40s, with a fair amount of wind. But, having come down from MN, wasn't going to let that stop me.
Obviously, it's hard to judge the conditions given the weather that just happened. As well as pace of play - we're the only group out there.
However, the shot variety required of the course is terrific. Used most all the clubs in my bag. A few holes give you some good risk/reward opportunities.
I will be in Dallas again this July. This course was intriguing enough I will choose to play it again and see what it's like with a little better weather.
Great condition great staff wish they had gps and cart girl
Im a very amateur golfer but love the course i play a bunch of different courses and buffalo creek is one of my favorites! Very nice and well maintained. Great pro shop always have everything you need. The golf pro/instructor is by far one of the best i've ever had the priviledge of gettin a lesson from.
this course has great features
everything at this course was in good shape except the bunkers they needed more sand in them alot of the bunkers were very thin and packed down not much sand in them
Good condition for time of year, but SOOOOO slow...
Rough start - after checking in, I walked down to carts to find out keys were not in carts. Why didn't the guy who checked me in give me one??? When I asked the marshall for one, he said "I don't have them" so I had to walk back up to counter and as I did, marshall yells "Hey, get me one too." No "please", no "sorry", nothing. Also, the guy at counter told me he'd call us to 1st tee over intercom - never happened. Kinda disappointing. The course was in decent shape for early Feb. Only green on the course is the greens which held great, but were bumpy and crusty. Had to wait on every tee shot and most approaches. Overall experience a 5 out of 10.
Great course if you find a deal
A little far for some as its on the eastern side of the metroplex but definitely a great course to try at least once. Challenging layout, especially the long par 4 6th and the par 5 16th, where the 2nd shot is actually tougher than the tee shot.
Snag a hot deal on golfnow to make this one worth the drive!
the fairways needed some water! I know it's winter but they were not very good
the fairways needed some water! I know it's winter but they were not very good, greens were very quick and pretty nice. T boxes could have used some water and work as well.
Fun course in great shape.
I had played out here a few years ago and it seemed to be in need to some TLC. It seems to have gotten it. The green are hard but run true. The fairways are in good shape. Bunkers could stand some new sand but overall everything is in great shape. Sunday mornings are very slow out there apparently and I was able to get around the course in no time.
Great course, excellent staff and well maintained greens.
Excellent course with well maintained greens and fairways. Buffalo Creek is one of my favorite courses in the DFW area. A great value for your money and a tough enough track to test your skills. I enjoy the risk/reward holes, and there are quite a few! Staff is very friendly and most helpful. They have a starter that's very friendly and has a great sense of humor...great way to start the round.
The course lay out fun but needs some basic attention.
Course in OK shape. Needs some basic attention to deals--rakes for traps all busted up, tees all over the tee boxes, busted tee makers no pin placement sheet on cart or offered at check in.
This course is great for all levels of golfers. If your playing the champ tees, bring your A game.
Great conditions, never had a bad lie in the fairways, play it down! Greens not as fast as practice putting green but still very good speed without being over the top. I would recommend this course for anyone looking for a great place to play.
Nice layout.
The greens were super fast & some hole locations were nearly impossible due to being located on a slope. They did roll very true - just very fast. The course was in good condition and the layout offers some easy holes to offset the difficult ones. It is worth a return trip.
This is one of the best values for the money in the DFW area. The course is always in great shape.
I have played this course about 5 times in the last few months and every outing has been a good experience. It is on the fringe of DFW and not easy to get to but once you are there is well worth the trip. The layout provides very different types of holes and the difficulty is good for a high intermediate of even an advanced player.
Good for All
This course offers something for eveyone. Challenging, but not so difficult that hacks can't also enjoy. Catching it at $24.50 is a great deal.
