Buffalo Creek Golf Club
About
Highly touted Buffalo Creek has been praised for its layout, condition, and overall attention to detail. No matter who you talk to in the DFW area, they all seem to praise the superb condition of the course from tee to green. Offering a 7,078-yard par 71 Jay Morrish/Tom Weiskopf design, Buffalo Creek offers a good combination of holes: straight holes, dogleggers, uphill and downhill shots, and both long and short holes.
One of the best features is the club’s method of using a pin location sheet to mark exactly where each pin is located on a particular day (up to six locations), which is unbelievably helpful to hacks who’ve never played the course before and have no feel for the look and contour of the greens.
Getting there : Take I-30 east from Dallas and exit Ridge Rd. Turn right and find the course 1.6 miles down on the left.

Greens in poor shape this time
I think these guys had a tough summer. They say they're trying to get the greens back, I wish them the best in that effort. But putting on these greens today was not fun. Patchy, different speeds, humps and bumps.....took away from the overall enjoyment of what usually is a pretty decent track.
Great course, will definitely play again.
Course after rain drained well and was in good condition. Pace of play was good, greens immaculate.
Course played as expected with lots of trees & water.
Need some rain to help the greens get back to normal. Understand they had a water main break just as they finished fertilizing greens. Still a great place to play.
The front greens are really nice. The back needs some work badly.
I play at Buffalo Creek pretty often. I'm surprised the greens on the back 9 basically didn't have any grass on it. I guess they are working on them.
Back 9 greens are gone.
By 9:15 Saturday morning they were already approaching a 5 hour round--course marshal did nothing despite numerous complaints from several groups other than say the course is full. The back 9 greens are awful--significant lack of grass and very bumpy.
back nine green terrible
Need more attention on green green like mud
First nine hole green ok
But not good shape
Back nine is unplayable green
Great Course but, Green Troubles Now
I love BC and play there most weekends but, it appears they are losing the greens. The outer perimeters were burned / dead and for $70 I will wait a while to play there again. I do love the course but, only if prices drop.
good but could have been better with greens better
Greens were bad becuase of verti cuting and dry
Although it was drizzling the greens had issue. Fairways were perfect so I felt thatmaybe we caught it at the wrong time of the year. HEAT wise
Horrible Greens and Tee Boxes on a one time very nice course
I was terribly disappointed in the upkeep of this course from tee to green. I played on July 6th, expecting the course to be in very well manicured, especially considering the mild summer. The greens were bare with little or no grass, bumpy with ridges that made putting difficult. The tee boxes were over grown with thick browning grass. Fairways were hard in some areas and soggy in other areas where sprinkler were leaking. The Staff was very nice and I felt bad for them having to work under such deplorable conditions. I would not recommend this course to anyone and will not return.
Major Problems
There is a certain amount of 'blind trust' that goes into booking on-line.
So there isn't any unpleasant surprises, I have learned to make phone calls to ask specific questions about conditioning before I book a round.
Buffalo Creek has long been a course I visit whenever I'm in the DFW area.
NEVER again.
Full price ($70) for total rag-tag conditions is nuts.
It would have been smoother putting at the local Goat Pasture.
The real problem ... I was lied to when I called and asked specifically about the greens.
When I stopped at the turn to express my concerns over being 'tricked' (lied to) into playing, my displeasure was met with a snicker and an assurance of 'no refunds'.
Like every other golfer, I vote with my dollars.
So Buffalo Creek is done in my book. NEVER AGAIN!!!
I'll be sure to let as many people as possible know not to trust these folks.
All around great course
Super friendly staff, cart gals, great course layout and condition left a solid first impression. Consistent greens and mostly flat tee boxes. Utilizes great topography throughout entire course. Will definitely be back.
Loved this course! This looks like a private golf course although its not.
This is a great course! It was fun to play, but still challenging. I have played a lot of private Country Club courses and this is the closest to one of those, for a semi-public course, as I have seen. Will play this course again and ever chance I get.
Solid, if unspectacular
Course was in pretty good shape overall, though the greens were a bit bumpy and certainly could have been better. That might improve in during the summer months, of course. Payed $65 to play it, which wasn't bad, but I wouldn't pay much more than that. Pace of play slowed down on the last few holes, but that was pretty expected for Memorial Day. Can't say how it is all the time.
Great course
The greens are fast and the pins were in tricky locations. For under $25, this course was a steal. The guys in the pro shop were great. Beautiful course. The rough is cut pretty short, almost at the fairway length. Makes the fairways feel wider. Challenging, yet fun.
wow, what a great course and in pristine shape
Hazards and trees and water. Nice layout and wonderful staff. Great day
Good experience
We got stuck behind a tournament, so pace of play was slow. Other than that, no complaints.
Good challenge from the back tees. Great layout with wide variety of shots required.
Played in early April, the day after 1" of rain. Temp was in the 40s, with a fair amount of wind. But, having come down from MN, wasn't going to let that stop me.
Obviously, it's hard to judge the conditions given the weather that just happened. As well as pace of play - we're the only group out there.
However, the shot variety required of the course is terrific. Used most all the clubs in my bag. A few holes give you some good risk/reward opportunities.
I will be in Dallas again this July. This course was intriguing enough I will choose to play it again and see what it's like with a little better weather.
Great condition great staff wish they had gps and cart girl
Im a very amateur golfer but love the course i play a bunch of different courses and buffalo creek is one of my favorites! Very nice and well maintained. Great pro shop always have everything you need. The golf pro/instructor is by far one of the best i've ever had the priviledge of gettin a lesson from.
this course has great features
everything at this course was in good shape except the bunkers they needed more sand in them alot of the bunkers were very thin and packed down not much sand in them
Good condition for time of year, but SOOOOO slow...
Rough start - after checking in, I walked down to carts to find out keys were not in carts. Why didn't the guy who checked me in give me one??? When I asked the marshall for one, he said "I don't have them" so I had to walk back up to counter and as I did, marshall yells "Hey, get me one too." No "please", no "sorry", nothing. Also, the guy at counter told me he'd call us to 1st tee over intercom - never happened. Kinda disappointing. The course was in decent shape for early Feb. Only green on the course is the greens which held great, but were bumpy and crusty. Had to wait on every tee shot and most approaches. Overall experience a 5 out of 10.
