Poor greens

Very disappointed with this visit, the greens are in a terrible condition for the time of year. Not sure what they have done to them but have huge random dead grass lines around 10 cm wide gouged out across the green, some 1 cm deep! Vast majority are unplayable which spoilt the day. Still at full price so will not be returning I'm afraid..

Course was lovely, staff were hiding

Great course that played really well with stunning views. The clubhouse was closed (happens on Monday apparently) no staff to meet us nowhere to buy a drink etc. We hadn’t brought anything with us and couldn’t buy anything before or after.

James Braid excellence!

Thoroughly enjoyed the challenge. Although many holes appeared short on the card, the brisk north-easterly wind, the strategically positioned grass bunkers, postage stamp greens (excellent for the time of year), not to mention the undulating fairways, meant yardages became merely a guide as opposed to a given. And the views! Not played many courses with better. Proof once more that you don't need 7,000 yards to test your skills. Will be back!

Great course especially in winter

Fantastic. Compared to other courses in Cumbria after rain it was in great condition. Only a short course but lots of fun. Staff in the clubhouse were very friendly and looked after us.

Nice course with stunning views of the Lake District

Well worth playing, nice layout, quite short course but some tricky holes with small greens. Great condition for time of year, looks like a course that drains well. It is high up so open to the elements but on a clear day you’re rewarded with stunning views. Only a couple of steepish climbs especially the 3rd so not to hard on the legs.

Great Golf Course

Played my local Cockermouth course and not having played it for a few years I was pleasantly surprised with its condition. This course is exposed to the elements and although relatively short when the wind blows the front 9 is a tough test. Really enjoyed my round and would recommend this course to anyone who enjoys golf and a hike

A Bit of a Slope.

This was a good course. Challenging in that most of the holes have some sort of slope. Lies can he a bit tricky depending on where your ball lands. There are no sand bunkers but grassy knolls. There are two steep hills to go up which could cause a problem if you have any kind of heart/respiratory condition.

Absalutly beautiful course with some unusual holes where you drive over a sheep field to hit the fairway. Stunning views all around. If you get the chance play this course. The holes are short but it plays longer due to the hilly nature. Only one really steep fairway so if you’re averagely fit you’ll find the course a delight

Short country course

I had an enjoyable first round here. It is a short country course on top of a hill with a number of quirky holes. It was in decent condition for early April.

Lovely views, I’d recommend it for a round of you are in the northern Lake District
