For £12.50 on a Saturday i can't complain. Picturesque holes, great course layout and very challenging, which is what it's all about. However, I would recommend some buggies, and rolling the greens. But great value for money and would definitley go again.
Great place
Second time I have played there- great course great value for money & very friendly staff 👌
Yes it is a cheap round but
Course was in poor condition with very little difference between the fairways and the rough.
Green were absolutely shocking with litlle or no grass on them.
Poor greens
Greens look to hollowtined some weeks and not treated wright most of greens still got large holes in and are large cracks appearing and seem to be dying
Mr J Birbeck
Greens very bad and slow No sand in bunkers just stones no signs to nest tee off shame it would be a nice course if it was looked after
Not even worth the £10 it cost
No signs for holes, multiple groups were lost and asking for directions to next hole. Greens are dry, weedy, sand everywhere. It’s like playing on a sandy hole ridden matt. The fairways blend in with the roughs. I would rather burn the £10 that it cost to play here than play here again. I feel sorry for the people that pay full price.
Mytime have killed it
Used to be a decent course. Greens are shocking. No tee markers on around half the holes. I only saw one rake which was about 2 feet long Fairways had been cut but still quite long grass. Mytime golf should be ashamed of themselves.
Nice layout / Needs TLC
The greens are beyond shocking.
The course layout is very forgiving, varied and well designed.
Some of the fairways are like concrete.
Years ago, was a beautiful course kept very well indeed for a municipal.
Covid killed it like loads of other things.
What a shame.
Better than the range though..! 👍🏽
Course better than previous years but still not quite there. Fairways are much better but already in need of cutting again. Bunkers were alot better than last year. Greens are not greens. Just shorter grass than the fairways. Used to be a great local course, hope it can get back to that soon. Staff says they have done and more work will be done. As always staff in the shop super nice and friendly.
Cocks moors woods
It is clear that a lot of work has been put into the course over the last few months to improve the playing conditions. However , the greens still need a lot of work.
It would be wonderful if you could put up suitable fencing to keep the motor bike riders out and to stop them churning up the course...especially the 3rd fairway and green.
Good course...
Really nice course. It was a shame the greens were not at their best. Once they are sorted it will be a great course and great value for money. Some challenging holes
Work being done and very playable
Used to play here alot but went right down hill been again the last 2 weeks and have really enjoyed it still lots to do but we'll worth a visit for the cost
Just keeps getting better!!
A simple quick review, I’ve played this course several times now and each time we play it gets better and better. The greens are so much better than last year and you can’t beat this place for value for money!! Love the course layout and I must say pretty much all the bunkers are now playable!!
Greens let it down
The course was ok for an odd round of practice but the greens let it down. No one one the course except a 5 ball not had that before which meant I missed a couple of holes to jump in front of them
Get what you pay for
Cocks Moor is in much better condition than it was last year.
I think this is the 5th time I've played the course and first this year but the grass was much shorter than any other time I've played. The greens are still not very good and bobble plenty, but the fairway was in better condition than it has been in the past.
I paid £12.50 for my round, which feels like very fair value. The course was nearly completely empty, so I was able to play at my own pace, without worry of holding anyone up, or being held up by slow play ahead.
Hopefully the condition of the course can continue to improve as the weather improves into the summer.
Just keeps getting better
The course continues to improve and is sooooo much better than it was last year.
Fabulous value for money, the course layout is wonderful and the staff are always super friendly even though they are fighting a battle to keep the course in the condition it is.
Myself and my wife play this course several times a month and rarely walk away without a smile on our faces. The greens are a work in progress as are the bunkers but they have improved dramatically over the past couple of months. Thanks
Getting better
What a lovely afternoon playing Cocks Moors. For £12.50 it’s a great little practice course and yes the greens aren’t great but they have improved since the last time I played here. The course layout is great and it has some very challenging holes.
If your learning to playing or like me wanting to get back into the swing of things then you couldn’t ask for more.
The staff couldn’t be more friendly and it won’t be long until my next game.
