Cosby Golf Club

We are both high handicappers . The course was relatively flat, open & large fairways helped to make it an enjoyable round. Pro shop closed as roof blew off in high winds. Nice clubhouse and changing facilities. Driving range payment a bit odd. Could only buy in multiples of £1 for 15 balls even though there were buttons for more balls & cheaper, these didn’t work.

Pleasantly surprised after being told the first tee was off the winter tee. The course played great firm fairways and greens that were close cut but soft and holding. 3hrs 30 minutes later we were in the bar just in time to get a hot sandwich off the carvery.

Taking into consideration the time of year the greens were in excellent condition and course in general very good, the bunkers were great so overall had a good experience

Good layout, tee boxes fairways bunkers and greens all in great condition for time of year. Looking forward to a return visit.

Very nice, challenging course in good condition. Slow play was frustrating and in the back 9 had to wait several minutes for every tee shot. Think this was due to a society but it spoilt the round.

Nice course, best fry up around, course tricky but very interesting. Only thing that let it down a rhree ball all three hackers slowed the round down.0

Greens had been spiked and sanded but very firm. Fairways were brown and around the greens to. Needed a good water all over. Some bunkers full of sand and some had hardly any in, not consistent.

Lady in the shop was very polite and nice.

Not sure I would return.

Nice challenging golf course, grounds were immaculate, greens were fast and the bar after was welcoming

Came all the way from Bournemouth back too my home town of Leicestershire too okay with my good old golf mate. Lovely layout, very much a course management style of course. You don’t need to bomb the ball to be in with a chance of par. Quite a tight parkland style course but I enjoyed every minute even if it was 30 degrees!! ☀️

Greens weren’t as good as I expected them too be, a lot of them suffering with some form of disease but very much playable, definitely letting them grow out because of the hot weather. Definitely will play again now I know my way around, you don’t need to use driver all the time!

Only real gripe was the bunkers. The design of the bunkers is absolutely lovely and the grass around them is Cut beautifully just be nice if they actually had some sand in them to hit the ball out of! Very hard some of them and impossible to get under the ball.

Overall a beautiful course and well worth the money!

I will be back!

Played in a three ball behind a two ball who had a fourball in front of them. Caught them up on the fourth hole but was not allowed to play through. On the eighth hole, I asked the fourball if there was any reason the two ball were staying behind them, to be told that they did not want to play through. The two ball slowed the pace of play and should have let us through. Eventually they signalled for us to play through on the ninth and continued to play on. We remained behind them until the end, waiting on every tee….disappointed with the attitude of the two ball……very frustrating!!

Enjoyed the food and drink sat out in the beautiful weather. Course was in good condition and enjoyed the round outside the above comments.
