Forest Hill Golf Club

Played this course on 11th October, the layout of the course is good with the 9th and the 18th bringing you back to the club house , all the bunkers had grass growing out of them clearly no work done on them , fairway had patches of long crass on them your ball would catch these and stop. Tee boxes very poor and not maintained. This is such a shame as with good management this course could be very good one

Greens full of moss! Hit a putt down a steep hill and it literally stopped!

Terrible tee boxes. It looks like the green keeper has been on holiday all year. If they have one.

£35 to play here is scandalous. The Marshall came up behind us we had hello he ignored us. We were waiting on the tee for at least 10 minutes, and we mention the pace of play. He ignored that and told my mate to took his T-shirt in! They need to sort the course out before peoples T-shirts!

Played here a year or so ago and it was terrible!!

The club and course have improved so so much, a lovely welcome from a lovely lady in the shop/ registration.

The greens, bunkers and fairways are consistent and great, new in many of the bunkers

Some of the tee boxes, need to improve but I’m confident they will.

£26.50 on a Saturday morning is a bargain and will be a regular visitor.

Keep all the improvements going.

3rd time ive played here staff and fellow players all very pleasant and bit of a slow group infeont but I had booked the day off so time was not a problem they were more that happy for me to play though but as there was no one behind me I wasn't fussed. Nice course nice staff and nice golfers.

Cracking course with some challenging holes, greens and fairways really tidy, was fearing the worse after reading some reviews, got the hot deal so for £17.99 fit 18 holes was an absolute bargain, would happily come back and play this at double the price.

Expected the worst reading some reviews but was mainly pleasantly surprised.

The course is an interesting challenge and overall enjoyable to play.

Grass on tee boxes (especially 13) and some fairways was too long. Robot mowers were doing the fairways but takes a long time. The grass overall was in good condition and greens were better than expected.

It's a nice setting and with some love and care could be excellent

First time playing this course and it was lovely nicely laid out. Well maintained aswell.

The first 9 is well open and easy to finded any miss hits but the back 9 is alot harder narrow and smaller greens which are fast.

11th is a massive par 5 dog leg left with real elevated green.

Definitely come back.

Played at forest hill once before, its a good place to play.

Some of the greens are not the best but they are still playable.

Overall its a good venue.

The only gripe would be the bunkers, flat lifeless sand with very little give in the surface and as with lots of courses the golfers not bothering to rake them properly for the following groups.

We had a good time, especially as the rain held off that day.

Nicely presented course posing a fair challenge. Greens in good nick although some tees are a little tired. Overall well worth a visit

Thus course is one if the best in Leicestershire now. Keep up the great work on maintaining the course.

Not played this course for over 3 years but seeing some of the recent reviews I thought I'd try this on a twilight rate. You can see the investment that has gone into the club since I last played, new marker posts, signs to the next holes, bridges however the big let down is still the greens.

My playing partner said that they are much better than they were but the green speeds are so slow and they appear to still have some sort of disease as these are patchy and also appear a yellow colour in places, also the Tee boxes are not in the best of condition on most of the holes.

The layout of this course is still great it's such a shame that the issue with the greens is still present, I probably would be willing to come back after 4-5 days of sunny weather just to see whether the greens ran a little quicker but would not consider paying full price.

Course was in much better condition than previous times I’ve played. Greens on the front 9 are in good condition, didn’t play the back 9.

A brilliant course with a fantastic layout, greens need some work but significantly better than they have been historically!

Overall a good course. Holes are challenging yet fun. One of the par 5s is a monstrous hole which is very fun but probably should be a par 8! A fun course although some of the greens could be in better shape. There is so much active wildlife as well which is very refreshing but also scary when new to golf not wanting to hit anything! On holes 9 and 18 it is very easy to loose your ball as there are so many range balls on the fairway it’s hard to find yours! Overall a fun course which with a little improvement could be one of the best in Leicester.
