Good course.
Good course for getting back into the game after tjme away.
good 9 hole course if your local for a practice round
booked via golf now, club shop was closed with nobody around, you walk past the club hut and tee boxes are ahead of you up the hill. Greenkeeper has done very well with the greens considering the amount you pay the course has soo much potential
Book a buggy or bring an electric cart as so hilly!
Myself and a pensioner pal played for the first time, not realising that it was a 9 hole course with a back 9 using differing tees. Some of the holes are not marked very well at all and the markers all have the hole number, but you can't even see them until you are over them as they are flat and not vertical. There are also NO MAPS on the back of the scorecards! Finally, it was a very very hilly course with some quite difficult terrain when carrying clubs. We were utterly exhausted.
Great staff and steady play
The Pro was very accommodating and organised left handed clubs for us. The round went smoothly and there was no slow play.
First time at Dartmouth Golf Club
A great course with different tee positions on the back 9 making it really interesting to play, well maintained greens and if it’s a hot and humid day, you’ve always got the option to stop off for a drink after you complete the 1st nine. Very friendly staff as well. The course is quite up and down and will certainly keep you fit but there are some great holes and the 9th is a good example of this.
Course had great potential but probably my first and last time here
Nobody around to book in with, clubhouse locked and no signposts to first tee, ended up asking another player who pointed me to the tee. Very hilly course but not bad condition, a few of the greens were a but sodden but playable. Got a good price to play 18 but ended up leaving after 9. Won't be in a rush to go back.
Not a bad course
For the money you can complain,
£15 for 18 is a bargain, nice course, fun challenging holes!
Needs to be a separate bar place for the golfers, walking through when people are eating isn’t the best. Specially when I smelt sour lol.
No staff
No one there when we got there , so no score card . Course a but ruff , needs a bit of care , but it was somewhere new to play and not bad really f0r £12
No facilities or staff around
I had booked my GN round. Turned up to find the changing rooms locked up, no shop or staff around at all and no scorecards available as a result. I managed to grab a player coming off the 9th to help with where the 1st tee was and heading off on my round. The course was in poor condition, it’s been dry and the course was showing it. The greens were at least green in the most part but playing the fairways and seeing dust fly wasn’t a good start. I made it round 9 the course is tight and crisscrossing of fairways and tees and blind spots. I paid for 18 but after 9 I was done with the course and left still no one around.
Great little course
Great game for a 9 hole course, 2 greens in bad condition but for the price this is a excellent course, defo going back with friends, off course amenities are excellent
Don’t bother
Tiger woods wouldn’t shoot par every shot is up hill or down, two holes were closed which means we played 14 holes without being told before arrival. Greens were like a mine field and full of sand. No one was at the course when we arrived to let us on and nothing was open. Pitching green was a beech and the practice area had one net. Honestly not worth the grass it’s built on!
Poor Experience
We arrived 20 minutes before tee off time at 1 o’clock and both the clubhouse and pro shop was closed. We went to the restaurant and they told us to go to the pro shop where they told us we needed to go to the clubhouse which was closed. The scorecard could do with pictures for the confusing layout. We paid for 18 holes and we were not told at any point that holes 6 and 7 were closed. With the course being 9 holes with 18 tee boxes this meant we paid full price for 14 holes. In the end we walked off after 9 (7 holes). It’s unfortunate as the course wasn’t too bad and has some really nice holes and challenging small greens.
What a bizarre morning, echoing the sentiments of others, no staff or course Marshall about so people could definitely be playing and not paying. Quite clearly there had been an error with the booking system as a booking for 2 people, coincided with a booking for 8 people and another booking for 2 people, not sure if this is a golf now issue or more an internal golf club issue, but the lack of a representative from the golf club to resolve this was baffling . Signage to the first tee was none existent ( it’s through the bottom of the car park past the driving nets and up on the hill on your left) and we picked up another group of golfers who were wondering about looking for the first tee box like it was a treasure hunt.
The course layout itself was ok seeing as it’s 9 hole course and you play off a different tee box on your second time round. The greens had been recently trimmed and the fairways were playable considering the time of year and the ground was firm, so we didn’t encounter a mud fest, though it was evident that some of the greens were fighting off a disease and were patchy in parts.
It looked like there was a nice restaurant on site, but that wasn’t open, before or after we finished our round which was just before 12, as coffee and a bite to eat would have been appreciated.
Unfortunately for me the disorganised start really put a dampener on this course. As others have said a bit more concentrating on the golf side of the business could provide dividends. In its current state I would really struggle to recommend this course to friends.
