Very good course, greens well maintained and good layout. Lady was so lovely and helpful at the desk and definitely playing here a lot more for sure.

Played Handsworth for the first time and would definitely recommend to others. Considering the hot weather recently, the brown and bouncy fairways were expected, however the tee boxes, greens and greenside bunkers were in fabulous condition. The only criticism I have is the large amount of goose poo, and that there was too much sand in fairway bunkers. Pace of play was very fast for a one-ball, not being held up once. Staff in the pro shop and clubhouse were lovely and helpful, and the members treated me well too. £23 for a 1:30pm tee time around Handsworth is a great deal and will definitely be returning.

Staff in pro shop were extremely friendly. Course layout was nice, and tee boxes/fairways were as good as they can be considering the dry weather.

Pace of play was excellent as a single, however was fairly disappointed with the greens, looked like the grass had not been cut for a little while, and there appeared to be animal excrement on all of the greens.

Overall, good course and would play there again, probably only with the hot deals.

Overall, we had a good day at Handsworth and the course itself was in decent condition. The fairways were quite burnt due to the recent dry weather, which is understandable, and the greens were in decent condition, rolling well despite there being a lot of unrepaired pitch marks.

The biggest disappointment was the tee time system. We booked a 3:10pm tee time through GolfNow, but when we arrived we were told the club doesn’t actually operate booked tee times and that everyone simply queues at the first tee. This meant we waited over 30 minutes past our booked time before we could start, which defeats the purpose of booking a tee time in advance. Either the booking system needs to reflect how the club operates, or the club needs to honour the booked times.

It’s a pleasant course that’s gone through significant changes over the past 5-7 years due to a flood plane being built and although the three replacement holes are decent, they’re out of keeping with the original parkland feel and have more undulating greens. The par 3 13th in particular is a ridiculous green when comparing it to the subtle borrows on the original course.

The clubhouse setting is a great with the balcony overlooking the first tee and the 18th green - perfect for a pint.

Overall, it’s a pleasant course that’s worth playing, but the tee time arrangements need to be addressed to avoid frustrating customers.

Fantastic experience from booking in to condition of course was top class. A club I hope to join having played different clubs in the area.

Overall top course with a few improvements that could be taken on board. Firstly tees could be levelled off and kept in better condition. Secondly, as a first time visitor looking for a club to join, a hole by hole layout on the back of the scorecard or on each tee would be very helpful, so visitors would know where water hazards were. The course has fantastic character with great elevation features. Looking forward to returning.

Always a lovely place for a round. In the middle of handsworth which doesn’t have the best of reputation. Course was in good condition, greens were excellent, weather was great and the club house is and always is welcoming and friendly. Lovely place to sit and enjoy the water feature after the round.

Excellent course well worth money greens spot on for time of year

The second time ive played at Handsworth. I just wish I lived a little closer to become a member. Love the layout and considering the poor weather we have had through the winter, the course is in great nick. £30 is real value. Highly recommended.
