Unbelievable course do not miss out
This course is absolutely class the practice facilities are amazing too!
Not to mention the staff in the pro shop who were very accommodating and helpful!
Excellent course- well kept.
Had a very enjoyable round, third time around this course so getting to know where to be on each hole for my approach to the green. Course was in good condition and the staff very friendly. Only marked down slightly due to lack of signs in certain holes so not clear where to find the next tee, but this is a minor issue. Would recommend, good value booking through Golf Now App.
The course is great
From the time we arrived the lady in pro shop was most helpful the course was in great condition the bunkers were well maintained and the bar staff were great had a wonderful day looking forward to play again in future.
Great course but the greens at this time had been treated so not so good. This course is very challenging to all that will play but very well maintained. I will have to return and play it again.
Great course only problem at this time was it had just been treated but the rest of the course was it great condition. The layout was great but for first time playing better signage would of been good. Definitely recommend this course and I will play this course again. Well done to all the staff.
The greens where out of action had to play on temp greens. If I knew this in the begin I would not hav booked. I was not inform about this by golfnow, very disappointed.
Handsworth golf club
Great days golf and made to feel very welcome.
A beautiful course to play.
Firstly let me say one on the best courses we have played no complaints whatsoever regarding layout or condition of course. However on this occasion play was so slow a four ball seemed to take for ever in front of the two ball we were stuck behind until they eventually let us play through on the 17th we were waiting on almost every tee and fairway. Nice gent playing alone joined us for a couple holes before pushing on and I guess forcing his way through. He indicated booking time via golf now served no purpose as members could just jump on when they wanted and on reflection this was impression I formed when reporting to shop to book in. Disappointed if this is case when parting with £70 while I fully appreciate member privileges then tee times shouldn’t be available to book via online platform
Some well placed bunkers to avoid, greens were in good condition and very fast. Worth a visit.
Pre open recky
Looking forward to playing again first time I decided to play a recky, glad I did alot of fairway bunkers in range for me,greens were immaculate and fast couldn't find the pace on the day. Really enjoyed it only rated 4 stars as I'm saving 5 stars for something exceptional.
What a great days golf, organised at short notice. Course, catering - food before hand and drink afterwards - and friendly staff made it a great day.
One of the best tracks you can play. Course in top condition. Greens were fabulous. The sunny weather was the cherry on top
Great course tucked away. Green we’re quick and consistent. New 11 is great and will improve over the next year. Staff and players all friendly and keen to engage with visitors. Fairways and tee boxes mint.
A mixed bag.
There’s no doubt, Handsworth is a cracking course. So seeing it available to play on Golf Now for £35 was a no brainier.
On arrival we checked in at the pro shop where the lady that served us was super friendly, super helpful and super hospitable.
Went through to the clubhouse bar and locker room which is a proper old fashioned set up, I quite like all that.
Then we arrived at the 1st tee. There were 4 groups in front of us and every group was running about half an hour late. Not good.
Mixtures of 2, 3, and 4 balls. so group speed was effected across the course. We watched the group in front of us tee off on every hole.
The course was looking good. Baring in mind the time of year and the weather, the tees were good, fairway definition, good aprons, good bunkers, and the greens were ok. The greens had recently been hallowtined, the grass had grown back so they looked bobbly. They were still pretty quick, but putts were bouncing.
After 3 holes we’re thinking, this is good value and you’re thinking how good it could be in the summer.
Then arrived at the fourth tee which was a mat. Not terrible, but a little disappointing and that’s when a couple of other things also crept in that were a let down. In particular a temporary hole (par 3 6th) which was just a bit of field with a flag in it. Think there were 3 temporary greens in play, half a dozen mats on tees and while this wasn’t terrible, it just took the shine off.
Would I play it again? Yes.
Was it great value for money? Not quite.
