Handsworth Golf Club

Played handsworth course now around 4 times through GolfNow hot deals as it works out cheaper the course itself is pretty good all round greens are in great condition considering the recent drought we have had fairways still recovering still patchy in places bunker are okay some need more sand but if they were raked properly by those who were last in them then there would be sand in the middle of them instead of around the edges I would recommend this course to friends as it’s good value for money I would say that there way to many Canadian geese on the course doing what they do best but probably have to wait until winter to see the back of them

Course is lovely, really interesting and well kept. Beware the staff are very picky, shouted at us as we didn’t have our shirts tucked in, went into the clubhouse to check in for our tee time then got a lecture afterwards how we didn’t each individual check in and check out even though we had already been in and paid.

My favourite course to play atm! And they have just redone the greens and they are the best greens I’ve played so far! Always great to play here, with some great holes! Would recommend to anyone!

From start to finish great day out,practice facilities starting with range to putting green are in good condition, golf course one best played this year look forward returning to great golf course 😀

Really like this layout, great variety of holes and plenty of room to swing. Greens were superb, really quick and true which took a bit of reading on the speed. Really quiet for a Friday afternoon so all in all a great experience which I would recommend

First time played here for a good number of years. So much so played some new holes which are really well designed and offer a totally different challenge. But the best bit was the quality and speed of the greens which added with the variety of pin positions made for some 3 putts. Club house old fashioned and lovely as were all the staff we met. Will definitely be back.

Over priced for a course that had poo on every tee box. Never been to a pro shop and had to provide all my details, all felt a little pretentious. Members were let out ahead, which is fair enough and they were nice enough. Defo not worth the money when you consider you can play West Mids Golf club for less

Staff in the proshop and bar were absolutely fantastic, extremely helpful and friendly.

Members were also very welcoming and pleasant.

The greens were a little slow but all ran true.

One downside to the course is that holes are close together and a lot of people were completely obvious to talking loudly when in people’s back swings.

Food in the clubhouse was very good and I can’t fault the staff at Handsworth.

you need to know the layout to properly play the course. playing it for the first time during this dry summer was an added challenge. overall enjoyed the challenge

We have played the course loads of times of years and have always loved it. This time was very disappointed. The greens had been sanded but you can't help that as they have to be done at some point however the rest of course was not up to it's high standards. The fairways were dry as to be expected in this weather but also loads of bare patches and every bunker had not been raked.

The course is usually lovely but the standards appear have dropped significantly

YES.... we have had a very dry summer, but the fairways are really poor, more than a few bare lies. Tee boxes are OK, and green aprons are good. The greens however just about save a 2 star review, they are quick , a great roll and lots going on, to tax even the best of putters.

This is a real shame as the layout and elevation changes make for what could be an interesting course.

The clubhouse is a bit like stepping back in time, lots of old oak panels. Locker room is very tired and dated, the whole experience felt like the place is on the slide.

From the practice green to the course itself, the course was in fantastic condition.

So scenic yet you wouldn't know it was hidden there.

Secure parking. Good clubhouse. Excellent facilities. Great layout. Challenging play. The greens are better than the Belfry. Just the goose poo is a little annoying but don’t let that put you off. Well worth a round here.

Corporate booking joined the course on the 10th tee. We were unable to complete our round with 5 two balls joining the course on the 10th tee. Disgraceful

One of the best courses ive played. Teeboxes as good as. Fairways in brilliant condition, if you hit straight then youve always got a shot. Probably the best greens ive putted on. Absolutely 10/10 every green. Would defo come back. Would defo recommend. Well worth the money

Well worth playing. Greens a pleasure to putt on, friendly staff!
