Thought needed on every hole
Very enjoyable course. Convoluted holes but usually clear signs to the next hole. A map at the tee would be useful when there are two possible fairways ahead! Undulating slopes so needs thought on the fairway. Also fast greens often on a ledge so think very carefully about your approach - go for steep ball onto the green or aim before the green.
Fabulous
Only recently returned to playing golf after 18 yr layoff! Family/work etc. Now playing with my 20yr old son and this was a first visit for us both. Course is challenging, certainly I would think until you played it a few times. However the views and scenery are spectacular, We both thoroughly enjoyed each and every aspect of our visit. We both enjoy a challenge and it didn’t disappoint, front 9 could have been better, (for us) back 9 much improvement as we began to get to grips with the layout. Staff and members were extremely helpful and welcoming. Brilliant sausage and bacon rolls to end the trip. Genuinely, I would recommend this club/course to anyone.
Dependable Disley
For affordable golf on an interesting layout you can't beat Disley. Course was busy when we played which made it fairly slow going but the course I as in great nick. Would recommend.
Poor from start to finish.
Not friendly, waiting for 3 sets of doubles for a compo half way through our round. When they was never mentioned when booking tee time. Course was dry bouncy and half dirt. (Understand no rain) but compared to what I’ve played, it’s poor.
Nice course ⛳🏌♂️
First time out on a course in a long while for me, its quite hilly so all aches and pains today!, but a very good deal for 18 holes. The greens have definitely been looked after, and the gradients and drops or rises on many holes certainly keep it challenging. Love the mature spruce trees and conifers.
A map on the scorecard would be useful and better direction to the next tee. Enjoyed the day.
Good fun!
Great course and well maintained. Very good for the price. Middle of the course I a little confusing though, a nap could be a real help as I got confused and played the wrong green at least twice. Greens were fast and well maintained
Disley a hidden gen
Played the course many times & the condition was the best it has been for at least 15 years greens were superb
Greens were immaculate
Course in fantastic condition, played in May and greens were poor, but Saturday they were fantastic , the views from this course simply take your breath away
Well worth a visit
This was my first visit, and I cannot recommend enough for anyone to visit Disley GC.
The course was in very good condition, the greens excellent.
All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Well worth a visit folks as they do homemade sausage rolls and pork pies!
Great Course
Really enjoyed this fairly challenging course in peak condition.
Greens and layout provided a challenge for a first round at Disley.
Looking to play again soon as keen on improving score with a little knowledge.
Very odd feeling about the place
Arrived early - weather had been terrible. Pro shop seemed shut - door shutter down. Saw a couple of players on the course though. Went back to the car to get ready as no course closed signs and we'd pre paid. Went back passed the pro shop and it was open. Bought a few items and got cards. As soon as we left the shutters came down again. This was all around 2pm on a Tuesday.
Weather cleared up and we got lucky. Saw about 4 others on the course.
Course condition was average but what do you expect for £20. Tee boxes were mainly awful.
Finished the round. Tried to go to the bar, but some lady popped her head out of a window to say it was shut.
It's a shame as it was a really nice course and clubhouse. Surely can't be long before it shuts full time at this rate.
Confusing layout
It’s a nice course with nice fairways beautiful greens and very nice bunkers if you find yourself in a bunker. I found it was very confusing. 2nd to 3rd is very confusing. Behind the second green is the fifth tee. I got lost and ended up on the seventh and then going back to the third nearly got hit by a ball from the second tee. There needs to be directions on the next tee and where it’s located. Other than the lack of indication for directions it was a nice course. I will definitely play again. And are some beautiful pictures fuse of the countryside and Manchester city Centre and further on. I will definitely recommend this course.
