Well worth a visit

This was my first visit, and I cannot recommend enough for anyone to visit Disley GC.

The course was in very good condition, the greens excellent.

All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Well worth a visit folks as they do homemade sausage rolls and pork pies!

Great Course

Really enjoyed this fairly challenging course in peak condition.

Greens and layout provided a challenge for a first round at Disley.

Looking to play again soon as keen on improving score with a little knowledge.

Very odd feeling about the place

Arrived early - weather had been terrible. Pro shop seemed shut - door shutter down. Saw a couple of players on the course though. Went back to the car to get ready as no course closed signs and we'd pre paid. Went back passed the pro shop and it was open. Bought a few items and got cards. As soon as we left the shutters came down again. This was all around 2pm on a Tuesday.

Weather cleared up and we got lucky. Saw about 4 others on the course.

Course condition was average but what do you expect for £20. Tee boxes were mainly awful.

Finished the round. Tried to go to the bar, but some lady popped her head out of a window to say it was shut.

It's a shame as it was a really nice course and clubhouse. Surely can't be long before it shuts full time at this rate.

Confusing layout

It’s a nice course with nice fairways beautiful greens and very nice bunkers if you find yourself in a bunker. I found it was very confusing. 2nd to 3rd is very confusing. Behind the second green is the fifth tee. I got lost and ended up on the seventh and then going back to the third nearly got hit by a ball from the second tee. There needs to be directions on the next tee and where it’s located. Other than the lack of indication for directions it was a nice course. I will definitely play again. And are some beautiful pictures fuse of the countryside and Manchester city Centre and further on. I will definitely recommend this course.

Great views, not very well looked after

Great pro shop, great views around the course. A couple of greens were quick and rolled nice however apart from that, tee boxes were in a poor state, fairways and fringes were in poor condition in the majority and rollout on the greens were incosistent.

It was a great, unique course to play and the course layout made it very fun to play with a couple of tricky, blind holes.

Tough little test in beautiful surroundings

This would have been a much better day had the weather not been so bad, really strong winds and pouring rain at times. That said, I wasn’t expecting the course to be so nice, maybe the short yardage threw me. But wow, this place is stunning and a real test of golf. The greens were a little bobbly, which was the only thing I could mark this review down on. But really pleased we paid it a visit and will be back again when the greens are in top form and the weather is a little kinder. Highly recommended,

Thinkers course

Absolutely chuffed I chose Disley golf club, the course is not easy but is open enough to tempt you into making some silly choices, the course is in many different cambers meaning you need to place you’re tee shots with precision, otherwise what looks like a very good shot can kick left or right and leave you in the bushes!

Overall I loved it, great chats along the way with a few members and had a chance to take in the gorgeous views along the way too.

Great Value

We drove an hour to play and weren't disappointed. Condition was generally good, although the greens were a bit below par in places (we could see that they'd been hollow tined and top dressed fairly recently and probably not seen much rain). Quite hilly in parts, leading to some annoying bounces if the wrong part of the course is found (local knowledge would have helped).

We'll definitely be back.

Lovely course

Lovely course well kept and very friendly staff and members.

Only improvements would be some sign posting for the tee boxes and some fairway or green markers for the blind tee boxes
