Great condition
Considering the amount of rain recent the course was in great condition. We started early and alot of the times were taken but it was steady play all the way round. Half way house was open with refreshments and the bar service was friendly and quick. Great course, will definitely be back.
Test of golf & greens very good although recently scarification had been done
There was clearly a drainage programme and bunker rebuilding being carried out
Recently a lot of rain and very little surface water no puddles
I’ve played here in the past and I accept that the maintenance is necessary GUR I know that this course is a real good test of golf very rarely get a flat lie, a course where you trust your club selection for distance as you strike a lot of blind shots
Great halfway hut for refreshments
The staff in the club house where very freindly the course condtion was good. The course layout was ok but very very poorly sign posted i got lost twice and when every hole is on a severe hill you know about it.
They positioned me between a slow four ball (seniors)and a competition behind boom!! it ruined my day.
in my opinion if youre going to play this course get a buggy straight away and any less than a three four ball dont bother.
The course has great views
Myself & my wife play disley quite often but this time the course lacked any care & lots of work had been done but none of It completed.
Bunkers without sand, bare fairways hence playing off mud patches, greens running terribly as not flat, playing off mats on certain holes & men playing off some ladies tees .
I would expect disley to be in good condition coming out of lockdown as it had a rest for 3 months, but this was not the case, in fact the opposite.
In general the course looked unkempt.
Very sad !!
So I understand that winter requires different playing conditions but this should be stated before paying for the course.
The winter greens were being used, only nine holes were open and the condition of the course was relatively sub par, not worth the money sadly.
Good winter round
Following many rainy days, the course was very boggy in places but the greens were in good condition for the time of year. Holes 3 and 4 were under maintenance so we played16 and 17 twice. Staff and members were friendly and despite some early rain, we had an enjoyable round.
Great day out
Although busy the tee time schedule meant there was a good pace of play. Fairways and greens are excellent. Only gripe is a couple of faiorways cross each other
Excellent Course
Very nice course and value for money. Challenging and very well kept greens and the lay our is great. Amazing view points from some of the holes too.
Staff were great and food was good too.
Great to see a fair few youngsters practising before their rounds also.
We'll be playing here again for sure
Lovely Course and Views
First time on this course. Lovely setting on the border of the peak district. Nice welcome from pro in shop upon arrival. Greens superb, fairways in good nick, great views. Not many places to lose your ball as most fairways wide. 3rd hole tee a bit confusing as you go back on yourself but overall a great 4 hours spent in late summer sunshine. Bonus was half way house on the 9th green, only negative no Bacon Butties!!!
Fantastic views from immaculate course
Played on a gorgeous but busy Friday afternoon. A society in front of us meant we waited a bit but still took less than 4 hours.
Course was in perfect condition, fairways well cut, greens fast. Layout is interesting and whilst hilly, the terrain adds to the variety. If you struggle walking you will need a buggy. Holes keep you guessing with a few blind tee shots (all with markers) and elevation changes to the green. It’s not narrow by any means, so you shouldn’t lose many balls, but there are a few holes where you need to know where to land the tee shot or your second is just getting back to position.
Would highly recommend this, played last few holes with a couple of members who were friendly, welcoming and encouraging despite being considerably better golfers.
Great Views and time to take them in
Played in a bank holiday. Not a great idea. far to many people on the course. took 4hr25min to play and we kept up to the 2ball in front.
Too many cross tee holes to get a steady flow.
Half way house was open for a much needed beer
