The Quarry Golf Course

First, the course, carts and staff are phenomenal. I have played here twice in the past week. What gets me is that the first time I played I followed off a tournament and the rates were about half of what they were today. Today with a 7:50 a.m tee time I was told by the starter we would be teeing off on the back due to a tournament that was shotgun starting at 8:00 a.m. I have no problem paying a premium price for playing such a great course but not being informed up front that we would have to start on the back and of course slower play with a scramble on the course seems unnecessary.

Lots of challenges but fun. Liked the mostly wide fairways. Greens were very slow the day I played.

If you haven’t had a chance at playing the Quarry it is worth the price. You get to experience 2 courses in one round. The front is open and challenging and the back is down in a old quarry and has elevation changes and has a real links feel. Fairways and greens were in phenomenal condition albeit the greens were not real fast as it had been raining. We followed a scramble and the employees were on top of everything. The only drawback was the range which only allows irons. It’s nice to be able to get a few driver swings. The putting green and chipping greens were absolutely perfect. Blind first tee shot calls for a 200 yard shot.

Only negative comment is that course had been aerated. Although it was still in great shape. Friendly staff and those we were paired with. I’ll be back.

Very fun course, great reuse of a former Rick quarry. Front nine has elevation change and wind comes into play. Back nine is routes through the reclaimed rock quarry. Very nice conditions, stunning views and a fair challenge of golf.

It is the best shape of all the public courses in the area.

Overall it’s a well run golf course. I guess I was expecting a nicer lay out on the back nine. I had heard how nice and challenging it would be. Well challenging maybe but was let down on the looks of it. The scenery got boring after the second hole. It’s all rock and tall dry grass. For the money you pay, I was looking for a better looking course.. I would play it again only at a reduced rate.

Pleasantly surprised at the overall course conditions given the lack of rain so far this year. Greens were excellent. Fairway coming along too. Even saw the cart girl twice during an afternoon round!
