The Quarry Golf Course

Had a great time at the Quarry. The course was in good shape and the greens were very good as well. Strongly recommend!

Has to be the best staff outside a private club. Courteous, attentive and they take pride in providing this service. Clubhouse is well stocked. The range is fantastic.

The course is in winter condition but well maintained. Great links style layout and plays well for all skill levels. This club is located in just about the most convenient location. Ideal. If you're looking for an enjoyable golf outing, this is your place.

Having experienced the challenge of this course since 97 ', course conditions/design (consistence), quality service, and great food, make The Quarry "a unique treasure" above & below street level !

Wanted to play a New Year's Eve round Saturday morning and The Quarry was available. Could've gone to some other locals, but had not played this course in awhile, so being available on Golf Now, I jumped on it. Really glad I did! First off, if you're in downtown San Antonio and you want to play, the Quarry is only 4 miles away. Second, the course is a fantastic layout and in impeccable condition. Saturday morning was drizzly but the course was perfect as was the pace of play. Lot's of great options in San Antonio, but the Quarry is one that you need to play.

The greens were very fast and true. Great experience!

Last minute show & go before picking my wife up at the airport in 4h45m. The staff was very accommodating throughout the facility. The shop got me set up & grouped with no problem, the grill made breakfast tacos for me in no time - which I highly recommend and I was off to the grass range. Starter got us off on time and the wind made for a little slower play, but pace was still good as we neither waited or were waited on. The wind was more noticeable on the first nine while the second nine was more protected both naturally and by surrounding buildings. Course conditions were top shelf. Mown areas were tight, rough was dense, but fair and the greens were firm, with decent hold and were quick matching the pace of the practice green. All said and done, I then executed a perfect airport pick up.

This is our second trip to San Antonio with our clubs. From our first trip, my wife and I agreed this was the one course we wanted to play again. When we come back, we will come back another time. The think grass off to the sides makes it very easy to lose balls, so bring extras. There are lots of water features (and I found most of them) which makes for additional things to look at. Lots of birds add their voices to the surroundings as well. The back nine is especially beautiful as it goes into the actual quarry. There are some challenging holes, but I wouldn't say the overall course is difficult. With a little more familiarity, my score would be better : )

Back 18 of a buddies weekend in SA. A little surprised & confused at first as outside services was pretty occupied handling a scramble that was scheduled to go off before us. While I talked with staff a couple times in the week prior, I learned you need to ask the right questions because some info is not free flowing.

The pro shop is well merchandised and loaded with a huge assortment of quality logoed gear. Pro shop staff was courteous & friendly, assuring us that plans were made accordingly and the tourney would an issue. We had an hour before, so we ate and the food was good. Our server did her best, but clearly had too many tables to tend to & repeatedly apologized when it should have been F&B management falling on that sword or leading them out of the jam.

Loaded up on our carts w/out GPS, but a pin sheet was provided we headed to the "iron only" range. The grass & balls were in good shape. The short game green was solid and as was the putting green. The condition and speed matched that of the course.

So with 5 hours of daylight left the starter got us off the first tee right on time, saying that it’s a 4h15m-4h30m play. The course conditions were top notch. The tee boxes, fairways & fringes were tightly mown. The rough was dense but fair, yet stray too far sideways and you'll be in fescue up to your knees. The bunkers had sand and were groomed. The greens were firm, but held well and the speed and trueness were spot on.

Unfortunately, we waited....and waited...and waited...and the course is wide open enough you can easily see the next open hole and identify the group 5 holes ahead that was the source of the back up. We walked off the 18th green just under 5 hours.

Bottomline, I so want to play there again & again. The rate was more than fair for the level of course & services and every staff member I encountered was helpful & cordial. The area is jammed with retail so my wife could spend approximately 4h15m shopping and then grab something to eat. Anyways, if I'm coaxed into a next time I'll be sure to ask the right questions when booking. I learned from my experience, hopefully you can too.

The course decided to put a shot gun scramble at the same time we went out. They assured us that they would not be in the way. WRONG! It was over a 5 hour plus round waiting on every shot the entire day which we finished at dark. Course was in good shape and would play again as long as the pace of play can be corrected.

I live in Houston but have played the Quarry three times this year. Very nice staff and always accommodating. Course is fun and challenging and fairways and greens were in good condition. I wish I lived closer I would play this course more. If you are looking for a unique experience try the Quarry in San Antonio. The back 9 is all inside a Quarry.

Course was in nice condition, back nine much longer than the front, some interesting tee shots.

Having to carry your clubs up to the parking lot ended the day on a downer.

The course was in great condition, when we played. It had just rained real hard the night before, but you couldn't tell by the course. The layout was good, a couple of holes were a bit of a test. Fortunately for us the grounds crew were working the area. They were kind enough to give us some tips on how to play the holes. The staff, were extremely helpful. Everyone we came in contact with very hospitable and kind. I'm glad I was able to play here.

First time playing this course so I really didn't know what to expect. I played the gold tees which were great for my level of play. This is a fun course to play with a few forced carries. In great condition the day I played. Got a good rate on Golf Now. Will play again the next time I'm in the area.

Great lay out and also in great shape

Have played this course a few times and considered it to be one of the better places to play in San Antonio with fast, smooth greens. This time, fairways were good, but the greens were slow and bumpy. They painted them to make them look better, but the greenskeeper is allowing invasive species to start. The pace of play was OK the first 9, but near 3 hours for the back. We never saw a marshall the entire round. Waiting 5 - 10 minutes every shot. Won't be back.
