Needs to improve
Greens very long and awful in places. Not sure when they last cut them but slowest greens I've played this year. Teescare probably the worst I've played this year as well. Fairways improving after the drought and bunkers were in good condition. Generally just scuffy.
It's a good layout and I will probably okay again but compared to the courses I normally play this was on the low end
Hope they give this place some TLC soon.
Good value
Nice price, good course, just conditions are not great as it’s so hard and dry, but worth a visit. Friendly members.
Quirky course - tight but enjoyable
Tea boxes were quite worn, but that didn’t really matter as it was a very hot day. The ball ran and ran if you’ve got it on the fairway and the rough wasn’t too penal. The greens ran smoothly and were consistent.
This isThe greens ran smoothly and we’re consistent.
This is a quirky course a quirky course but was enjoyable and certainly not busy.
Great value at £32 to the round and served a nice cold beer which was well earned in a comfortable clubhouse
Amazing course with one small issue
Amazing course, great lay out, brilliant greens.
Tee boxes weren't in great shape when I played.
They close the gates to the grounds which makes twilight rounds rushed as the gates close depending on when the sun goes down which does make me go and play other local courses over it.
Fix that, and I wouldn't play anywhere else
Cheap if you want a quick round
Courae condition was not great at all, the layout was also not great
Pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the layout
I enjoyed my round with the course being in good condition generally and found the layout interesting and enjoyable with different challenges on each of the holes.
It is a nice mix of challenging par 3’s, good par 5’s and strong and risk reward par 4’s.
I think the club house has massive potential but is underwhelming.
Great that you have the driving range and par 3 course as well.
Drayton Park
This is a great course. It’s extremely well maintained and has a great layout. The course is flat but provides enough challenges for all golfers. Highly recommend this course.
Improved......would play again
Gave up on this course last year as it was in an awful state. After hearing from a member it had improved we gave it ago. I am pleased to say it has improved, considerably. Greens generally very good. a little slow but true. Fairways like most courses have suffered from the jack of rain but honestly, still fine. Pick and place us used so no impact if you get a bad lie. Bunkers look okay but lack of sand is still an issue. Better raking would help.
Overall we enjoyed our round and will come back again.
Decent course
First time playing Drayton. Really enjoyed it. Course was in good condition. Greens were good. Good value. Actually just about to book to play there again.
2 day mini golf break
I returned to Drayton Park as the first leg of a two day trip to Oxfordshire this summer. I've played the course before and it's not far from the A34 and has plenty of parking.
I played on a Monday afternoon and predictably it was quiet so the pace of play was perfect and the course was in good condition. This has plenty of challenging holes and some really nice holes with trees lining both sides, creating quite a nice view as you drive up each fairway (well that's the plan).
The bar area is quite small but the staff were very friendly and I will return again next year for another mini solo trip in my one man society.
