SilverHorn Golf Club of Texas
About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

Loved the course
I loved the course, but for my first time going there was no cart girl, no beer , Gatorade, drinks available to buy, no snacks. Y'all ran out of everything. Owner needs to stock up ! Even during a remodel!
First time
They first time playing here. Lived the entire Coarse. Very well maintained and the layout is wonderful. If I had to complain about anything, no score cards. I was advised to download the App. Had a great time.
Good Course
Good course for these areas. Definately not worth $95 to play!!!!
Green Fees are better spent elsewhere
Played Silverhorn today with 3 friends. Here's the good, the bad, and the ugly.
The good: The course was in pretty good shape, especially since we're in the middle of August in South Texas. Greens rolled well and the fairways were in pretty good shape. Some of the tee boxes were looking pretty rough however.
The bad: The guy behind the counter in the pro shop was rude. I'll not bore you with the details but he was definitely having a bad day (or at least seemed like it). There were no scorecards on the carts. OK, we'll just pick one up at hole #2 like you do at EVERY OTHER golf course in San Antonio...Nope, none there either. At the turn, one of our party goes inside to see about getting a scorecard and again, Mr. Sunshine behind the counter blows him off and tells him to use their app. I'm like OK, I'll download the app cause I guess that's the only way I'll know what I'm looking at for each hole but in order to use the app you have to fill out a lot of personal information, to include your email address just to use the electronic scorecard or gps...No thanks...I really don't want to get email spammed to death by this golf course.
The ugly: There wasn't one water station anywhere on the course. Not one! We're in South Texas in the middle of August for crying out loud and not one hole has any water??? Yeah, the beverage girl did make her way around to us twice but come on man, we're in the middle of brutal heat and humidity. I also didn't like the fact there there are no bathrooms on the course except at the clubhouse. Only bathroom I saw anywhere out on the course was a portapotty.
Your green fees are better spent at the Alamo City Golf Trail courses in my opinion.
Not a Good First Impression
The course was okay. I probably would have enjoyed it more if the pace of play was better. It was so slow that we ended up playing the back 9 as a group of 5. The phone number at the start of the 9th hole to order food didn’t have an area code. This was especially interesting to me since I was visiting from a different state (Maryland). It took almost 5 mins on the phone to find out the kitchen wasn’t open. It was not a good experience for me.
No scorecards?
Scorecards are not available. There are also no water stops on the course so adjust accordingly. Course is always very playable and the back nine keeps you on your toes. Number 10 is one of the tougher holes you’ll encounter anywhere.
