About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

Best course in SA
Fairways & greens are always on point.. staff is awesome!
Local knowledge helps a lot
Overall, the course is a fairly tight layout. Fairways are quite narrow with trees on both sides of most holes. On many holes, you can’t see what is up ahead and you’re guessing where might be a good aiming point and distance. I hit driver on a hole with 275 yards to a dry creek bed (normally hit driver about 240) but ended up in the creek bed because of the significant slope down to the creek. If I played the course again, I would not take driver on that hole and might even lay up with a hybrid. On another hole, my tee shot was 5 yards inside the cart path, but there were big rocks instead of rough. There were lots of holes where I thought I hit a good shot but ended with a dismal lie because the “hazards” are not readily visible from the tee and I didn’t have the local knowledge to avoid them.
Like other reviews have noted, there isn’t a scorecard to be found anywhere on the course, and they don’t have water stations along the way. There was a tournament before us and there was a beverage cart for those folks, but nothing for the regular golfers. You can get water refills or other drinks at the turn, but it would be really good to have something on the course. There are no ball washers on any holes (posts are there, just no washers).
If I had to pay what they were charging for the weekend tee times, I would be very unhappy, but it’s not too bad for the price I paid. Glad I brought water with me.
Wee hid holes
Nice course. Layout was a good challenge with some hidden holes. Quite narrow in some parts making the wind come into play. Ready to find your bask should you miss hit, not that I ever did.

My first time playing at this course and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The course was in great shape. Loved seeing the deer early in the morning. Lunch afterwards was great. Just a bit overpriced, but I can live with that.

Had great time!!! Course & greens are in great shape. Probably going to play again b4 I leave Sunday.
Loved the course
I loved the course, but for my first time going there was no cart girl, no beer , Gatorade, drinks available to buy, no snacks. Y'all ran out of everything. Owner needs to stock up ! Even during a remodel!
First time
They first time playing here. Lived the entire Coarse. Very well maintained and the layout is wonderful. If I had to complain about anything, no score cards. I was advised to download the App. Had a great time.
