For just barely over $20 had an awesome day of golf, sun was out and pace was great. For early March the fairways and greens were in good shape. Wish they had water on course and ball washers, only complaints I have.

The cart girl stated they allowed a six-some to play together, seven to eight holes ahead of our group. The end result, I had a 5 hour round.

BEATIFUL COURSE BUT FAIRWAYS IN POOR CONDITION. I CAN UNDERSTAND IT MIS WINTER BUT EVEDIDENTLY THE COURSE ID OVERRUN BY CARELESS GOLFERS WHO PACK THE COURSE DOWN WITH THEIR CARTS. SPEAKING OF CARTS, OURS DIED ON THE FRONT NINE AND HAD TO GET IT REPLACED BY ONE THAT WAS CHARGED AND BRAKE DID NOT FUNCTION AT ALL. FUN COURSE DESPITE THE POOR CONDITIONS. ONE THING THAT WAS VERY FRUSTRATING WAS HAVING TREE BRANCHES HANGING OVER IN THE FAIRWAY THAT BLOCKED YOUR 2ND SHOT. THIS HAPPENED TO ME 5 TIMES ON THE BACK NINE AFTER I HIT GOOD DRIVES THAT WERE IN THE FAIRWAY OR IN THE SAND BUT IN PLAY. IF THE FAIRWAYS IMPROVE AND TREES ARE TRIMMED, I WOULD LIKE TO TRY THE COURSE AGAIN.

No pace of play monitoring. Paid for full 18 holes, left after 9 holes given how slow the round was going.

We like the course and have played it many times. Before the pandemic, there was a special on Tuesday that us Seniors respond to. I have a group that plays every week of 2 or 3 tee times. But like one of your other recent reviewers,, you offer no senior rate or special for groups like ours. The special could even be something from the grill after the round. So if you get up to speed with what some other courses due, we would be there at least once a month.

First of all you no longer and haven’t had a senior rate since coved started. All the other courses we play has that or military discounts.

You have no ball washers or water on the course.

You charge all that money and give nothing special.

It had rained a little the day before we played on the 1st of February and you had everyone play cart path only. On the third hole I called the pro shop and asked why cart path only and I felt I was talked down to about how you had to protect the course. I agree you must protect the course, however the ground was solid. No real need for cart path only. Again I stopped in the pro shop before I went to number 10 and asked the sam question. Got the same dumb answer. Was told that workers were evaluating it and would make a decision. Was told if the signed were taken down on a hole we could play 90 degree. Never happened.

I know a little bit about golf courses, I have a handy cap flag and am a disabled Vietnam Vet but that makes no difference to you.

I used to love Silverhorn but I doubt if I will ever play there again.

I am in charge of the Airport Managers Golf Association, and if you ever noticed we stopped using your golf course 3 years ago. No one ever called or asked why we stopped using you. Guess no one cared enough to wonder why you lost our business.

Fairways are in ok condition, but if you miss the fairway even by a yard (which is easy to do as most fairways are narrow) and you are lucky enough to find your ball, it will be in the dirt, rocks, tree roots, junk. Greens and bunkers are in good shape, no on course amenities (restrooms, drinking water) golf carts are old and don't have GPS or even a scorecard, ours had no brakes, if you buy drinks from cart girl she will put them in a plastic bag with ice, they have no coolers, overall not worth the $90 they charge, it's maybe a $50 course at best.

Traveling on business was my first time playing in South Tx. When I got to the pro shop, the first thing I noticed was the quality and diverse product choices. Shirts, balls, jackets, etc. It surprised me for being a small clubhouse. First and foremost, the staff is professional, cordial, and engaging. Upon learning this was my first time, the asst pro asked what I typically shoot so he could recommend the most appropriate tee box (4 sets).

Range and putting green area right outside the pro shop. Since I was single, the pro assigned me a cart number gave me the key, and off I went to warm up.

Very professional surprise, but the pro announces over the loudspeaker our group is on the tee box in 7 minutes and to please proceed to the box. Very cordial and professional

Now the experience playing - it took 4:40 hrs to play. I was paired with a member and two other guests. We played ready golf. The pace was slow as many groups were playing the wrong box, and if they put a ball into the woods would go back and reload - regardless of where they were on the course. Frustration built, but our foursome resorted to telling stories to pass the time.

There was a ranger driving around, but he was utterly useless.

The best thing about the course are the greens, Fast, consistent, and undulating/ For whatever reason, the ball always seems to break to the right just by the cup regardless of the angle and speed,

I do plan on coming back as the course is tight. You need to be consistent in your angles to the green, or you get penalized—very fair track.

We got a hot deal on Golfnow and the price was crazy low. The course is very challenging but had a great time.

Good greens, so so fairways, (lots of hard pan)…about a 4.5 hour round (very slow) for $20 tho, a heck of a deal..cheers

Excellent greens.. many hard pan fairways.. for $26 a fantastic deal.. the pace of play was very slow, about 4.6 hours for 3 of us in a cart..cheers
