About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

Slow play
They need a marshall to regulate pace of play. Group ahead of us joined up with group ahead of them. Six now in the group. Understand the slow play because of tournament but no need to add to problem.
Course in great shape! Good to see rough is green.

Overall the course was in great condition. Soft fairways and well maintained greens. Our round took about 5 hours but that was due to my group playing behind a tournament. Great course to scramble with some buddies, would definitely recommend this course to anyone!

Course is in great shape, greens are rolling smooth a tad slow but accepting shots. Would like to see a walking rate, it’s a bit pricey and then throw in range balls, we did have a 6some playing in front of us and when we called clubhouse said they were aware and let them play as they were playing a scramble and were 10 minutes ahead of pace at hole 6, after 18 they were well behind pace, we finished in 4:45. We had 3 walkers and could’ve finished in 3-3 1/2, and they weren’t raking bunkers, not fixing ball marks, yelling on every hole oblivious to all around them

Somewhat tight track that encourages you to take what it gives. If you choose to be more aggressive, you better be hitting it well or your scorecard will take a beating.

Near perfect
The greens and fairways were in great condition. The only negative I have is that it was cart path only due to it raining a day or two earlier. I was paired with 3 other men and we all agreed it had dried up enough that we could have been able to take carts on the fairways without causing any damage. Aside from that, this course never disappoints. If you can get a hot deal it is definitely worth it.

Missing some basics
Still no water on the course. Ball washers would be nice since this course can get muddy Easley.

Just recently moved to SA. I played Silverhorn for the first time. I will definitely go back. The course was in great shape for this time of the year. It's a challenging course with some unique holes. The staff is friendly and helpful.
