About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

If it's more than $30 don't waste your money
Somehow the rates here have gotten wayyyyyyy out of hand. They are in no way, not even close, to being in a position to charge the same amount at The Quarry or Canyon Springs or La Cantera, and yet they're now charging nearly $100 to play at 1pm in the afternoon!!! The greens run about an 8 on the stimp and the tee boxes are like week old chia pets. If you have to pay any more than $30 to play here please do yourself a favor and save your money or find another course to spend your hard earned dollars.

Water and Ball Washers on the course?
I do not understand the reasoning for not having ball washers and water coolers on the course. It was a scorching 100 degrees in May with no water to be found on the course. This seems like a potential hazard for those who have never played here before and don’t plan ahead to bring multiple bottles of water. One person dying from heat exhaustion might change their mind. Besides that poor decision, course is in excellent shape.

Great course.
First time playing here. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They did say the greens were scheduled to be punched next week. The greens were in great shape and were smooth and fast when we played. Seemed busy, but we finished in about 3 1/2 hours. I would recommend this course.

Expensive for the lack of attentiveness.
The course layout is great and there are some challenging holes. Greens were in good shape, tee boxes not so much, and areas just off the fairways which were either gravel or mulch in some spots. Other observations: carts are old, need to be replaced, or at least fix the holes in the seats. For $100+, might be nice to throw in a bag of range balls or some tees. There needs to be someone driving around the course to maintain pace of play—there was a 5 some playing followed by 3 3somes—4:45 for 18 holes. And the group behind us was playing with 2 young kids (under 4yrs) in the cart—and had no clue as to golf etiquette. You can’t post your score on the GHIN App, because they aren’t part of it.

Course is Great, But...
Finished before 7pm and facility was closing/closed. Sunset is not until after 8pm so I'm not sure why they close so early. Course was great though....

Slow play
They need a marshall to regulate pace of play. Group ahead of us joined up with group ahead of them. Six now in the group. Understand the slow play because of tournament but no need to add to problem.
Course in great shape! Good to see rough is green.

Overall the course was in great condition. Soft fairways and well maintained greens. Our round took about 5 hours but that was due to my group playing behind a tournament. Great course to scramble with some buddies, would definitely recommend this course to anyone!

Course is in great shape, greens are rolling smooth a tad slow but accepting shots. Would like to see a walking rate, it’s a bit pricey and then throw in range balls, we did have a 6some playing in front of us and when we called clubhouse said they were aware and let them play as they were playing a scramble and were 10 minutes ahead of pace at hole 6, after 18 they were well behind pace, we finished in 4:45. We had 3 walkers and could’ve finished in 3-3 1/2, and they weren’t raking bunkers, not fixing ball marks, yelling on every hole oblivious to all around them
