About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

Somewhat tight track that encourages you to take what it gives. If you choose to be more aggressive, you better be hitting it well or your scorecard will take a beating.

Only issue was no water in the jugs

Near perfect
The greens and fairways were in great condition. The only negative I have is that it was cart path only due to it raining a day or two earlier. I was paired with 3 other men and we all agreed it had dried up enough that we could have been able to take carts on the fairways without causing any damage. Aside from that, this course never disappoints. If you can get a hot deal it is definitely worth it.

Missing some basics
Still no water on the course. Ball washers would be nice since this course can get muddy Easley.

Silverhorn
Just recently moved to SA. I played Silverhorn for the first time. I will definitely go back. The course was in great shape for this time of the year. It's a challenging course with some unique holes. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Greens rolled nicely
Overall the course is in pretty good shape with the greens rolling nicely. Wish the fairways had more grass on them but it's just now getting to Spring time so hopefully that will improve.

Used to be a great place
Can’t get coffee or drinks before 11am in the restaurant in the morning. Can’t wash your golf balls because they took the ball washers out. Can’t get a drink of water anywhere on the course. Like the course but some of the decisions being made do not make any sense. I will play again but it will never be my first choice

Challenging
Played from back tees for first time, such a great challenge. Greens where in great shape. Kudos to superintendent and his crew!

Most overcharged golf course in San Antonio
This course is not well maintained of course and most overcharge it of course in San Antonio. $30-50 is proper value of rate. I don’t remember his name but the old guy at the desk in pro shop is very rude all the time. The cart is very dirty and I had experienced dirty garbage from previous golfers in the cart. Greens were so slow. Don’t waste your money. I would go Canyon Spring or the Quarry with spending almost same amount of money.
