About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

Bunkers
Love playing Silverhorn Course...narrow fairway and trees left and right threw out the course so leave the driver in the bags lol. Only problem is sand traps need big time work and nobody never rakes them after going in..only take a few seconds to rake!!!! Still Great Course to Play!!!!!

Beware of Fivesomes
Don’t know if the course allows it but we got stuck between two groups of 5 (one group on the front nine and one group on the back 9). Our solution was to. Leapfrog the groups which mean’t playing only 16 holes which was okay since we just wanted to go out and have a fun day on the course.

Fun course with great variety of holes. Greens where superb the day I played. Pro shop staff very friendly. Look forward to playing again.

Love this course!
Always a fun course to play that will punish you with wayward shots. What really stood out were the greens. I don't know if they re-did them or what but they were in amazing condition, almost spongy.. the ball would hit and sit or even spin back.

Silerhorn review
My review of Silverhorn is the course was in excellent condition and the greens were also in excellent condition and we’re a little fast but still nice. The pace of play was pretty slow as it took over 4 and a half hrs to play. And lastly is I do know a lot of friends that would play there more if the price wasn’t so high. Over $80 for a weekend round is a little steep. And that’s why we only play they’re only once or twice a year

Very Challenging course
Love the course...really tests your ability to understand golf and not just hit balls. Made you use every club in your bag...lol. Greens were very difficult, putting made the diff in the round. looking forward to playing again in about a month. Planning on getting my revenge!!!

The rate of play and the lack of marshals to enforce slow play was enough for me not to want to go back.
I also don’t like there are no physical scorecards or water coolers, ball washers, club washers on the course.

A Great Day
Cart path only due to wet conditions. 3.5 hour round. Greens roll true, fairways plush, lots of trees affecting shots.

A Gem in Town
Great layout, narrow fairways with foliage too close makes it easy to loose balls. Fairways and greens in excellent condition with true roll on greens but inconsistent speed. Played 18 holes in 3.5 hours!

Golf Silver Horn
We had a lot of rain last week and the course was still in good shape. There were 4 holes that was cart path only, but understandable due to the rain. Very pretty layout.
