About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

Yikes
Cart fee on top off green fee is $30 just to ride.
Carts don't even have GPS. Ridiculous for that much money
You want to walk? $50 and no military discounts
No water on the course which makes it even more ridiculous. Want to sit on a bench while waiting 15 minutes every hole to tee off? Good luck. Pre Covid this was the place to be. Know price gouging is the new norm here. So sad to bad

Hot Deal
I didnt know that "hot deal" meant no water on the course!
Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. Your feedback about water on the course is important to us. We are working to develop the best way to provide our guest with refreshments. We do allow outside drinks. We do not allow outside alcoholic beverages. You are welcome to bring your own bottled water, Gatorade, or another refreshment as long as it is alcohol-free. Pace of play
Be prepared to play slow. If there is a Marshall he is not managing the pace of play. We sat on tee boxes with the group in front of us waiting 10 minutes together. While we got to meet the people in front of us it was too slow. Management told me I played on remarkable time. I guess the people in front of us did too. We left after nine holes because we were estimating the back nine would take about 3 hours or more. By the time we got to hole ten three groups were waiting to tee off.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Cost and water
The price is twice as high as Trails course and similar to resort course. I would play Silverhorn if prices were in line with other course. What happen to water on the course?

How in the world can you justify having no water on the course! Using Covid to reduce costs and labor is only justification I can even imagine.
It’s South Texas summer .. the only other course I know of in the state with no water on course is owned by same ownership as SilverhornGC..

This course is a great getaway
This course is quiet and secluded. There are lots of deer and the course is in great shape. Feels like you are in the middle of nowhere.

Nice course
The course has a Nice layout and is fun to play.
Maintenance need to be improved as there’re are so many bare grounds and damaged cart paths.

Great local course
Loved playing here! Been here a few times and my group really enjoys it. Course is pretty shaded at points and the greens are fair.
