Only way this course is worth playing is if they dropped the rate to $50

A couple of greens are under repair and makeshift greens are in play on back nine. I know it has to be done but people should be informed about it. Great course in great shape otherwise.

I did choose to recommend this course to a friend. Only a good friend as a joke. We Played after an early morning downpour. Course was still draining when we arrived at 7:00 am. I read some reviews that the greens had some problems. They were accurate. I was wondering why so many tee times along with a little lower rate. Fairways are fine. I hate it when a course loses control of the conditions of their greens. This could kill the course. The front not good / not terrible, but the back starting on #11 through #14 were not playable. Temporary greens on a few of them were a joke. It is almost like what the heckis even the point. Just shut the holes down and charge less. I don't know the solution, but the only one may be to just shut it down. These courses try to slick up the greens to make them fast, but in San Antonio with the drought we've had over last several years has been brutal. I rather play on a slow green with grass to keep the course playable than let this happen to them. Also, the Bandit in New Braunfels is experiencing some green issues. It like what the HE double toothpicks is going on.

Great pro shop, staff, and driving range. Greens are getting the attention they need. Will definitely play here again.

The fairways are in great shape. But the greens have been aerated. The greens on the front are bumpy due to aeration but the back has greens with a lot of disease. There are two temporary greens. It’s a great course with a great layout. It’s just not worth the money at this time. Give it a few weeks to heal.

For the amount you pay I would expect to play on some better greens and some type of notice of greens being under construction. Then to top it off on a holiday they had grounds workers cutting during your play. I understand it has to be done but on a holiday when you are still charging full price. Thank god they have great staff from the clubhouse to the cook the staff was great.

2 greens are completely dead and the other 16 are partially dead. This is not a golf course anymore. The most important part of chipping and putting is impossible b/c all of the greens are dead. Avoid this course

I booked a round at Silverhorn Golf Course last week through Golf Now and thankfully got a hot rate and with my Golf Pass membership I paid $40 for 18 holes and a cart. I'm glad I got that deal or I would've been pretty hot. The course conditions were probably worth the $40 and no more. I've always enjoyed the challenging layout of the course. The conditions, for the most part, from tee to green were fair. SH has never been a GC that drains well and there was that issue, standing water, even though it hadn't rain for days The greens however, were in poor shape. Several of the greens were very bumpy, with patches/gouges and holes filled with sand. They also had two temporary greens for #13 and #14 that were in the fairway of those holes. All the greens weren't horrible, but there were enough to say I'm glad I didn't pay more than $40 to play. I saw a video the next day on Facebook where the Superintendent remarked about the challenges of Bermuda greens and Texas weather and that the greens were in great shape. They are not and several courses on the Alamo City Golf Trail have better greens and you'd pay a lot less.

If you have 3 holes where the greens are in the fairways don’t charge premium. 130$,7$ a hole, take of 21$.

I truly enjoy playing this course from time to time..AWESOME LAYOUT n somewhat challenging with all the trees..HOWEVER, for this price point, NO WAY should the greens look like this! It seems as if there is not any effort to rectify the horrible greens ..probably bc people are still showing up to play daily. Save yourself some $$ and play any course on the Alamo Trail bc all of them are way way better than SilverHorn!

Every course has its issues, but I feel for what you’re paying staff should disclose the horrible unplayable conditions of their greens at the moment. The cart I got was barely working from the beginning and not sure how staff let a cart like that be used by the public as it literally stopped turning on 15th hole and they had to bring me a new one. Fairways were good, but overall, I would not come here again unless some serious changes to the greens and transparency from staff is made a priority.

Only a couple greens have 80% coverage. Most greens are 30-60% covered. Mostly dirt.

If you don’t mind awful greens the rest isn’t too bad but for the price there are plenty other choices out there that at least have well maintained greens along with carts with gps. Should be a 20$ dollar round at best.

The staff is by far the best aspect. Great check in experience, clean carts (should have a gps update for the price), good grass for the range, the fairways were in good shape, but the greens need a lot of work and look neglected.
