A few greens showed some dead spots, but overall course was in good shape

Only a couple greens have 80% coverage. Most greens are 30-60% covered. Mostly dirt.

If you don’t mind awful greens the rest isn’t too bad but for the price there are plenty other choices out there that at least have well maintained greens along with carts with gps. Should be a 20$ dollar round at best.

The staff is by far the best aspect. Great check in experience, clean carts (should have a gps update for the price), good grass for the range, the fairways were in good shape, but the greens need a lot of work and look neglected.

Played her a few times...pace has always been slow but the layout and the conditions were usually decent. Not now...the greens are absolutely horrible..no grass...dead..fungus....yes they have to be some of worst green i have seen or played...you would expect at a $40 muni but not an $80 so called premium course. Too many options to waste your time here right now. Even though the rest of the course was a ok shape...the greens change all that. To bad...nice layout and setting...nice staff..but the course is joke right now...at least at these prices

Course conditions were very poor. Greens were not playable and they are overcharging for these conditions.

In the past, Silverhorn has been a good place to play. Right now the majority of the greens are nearly an unplayable condition. We played on a Wednesday morning and the driving range was closed. The practice green was in horrible condition and no short game practice area. The golf carts had bald tires no GPS. At this time, Silverhorn may be the poorest condition course in the city of San Antonio. I am really upset that Golf now allows a course like this to charge over $80 with no warning about the condition of the course there should really be an option for a full refund when this Happens.

This was the worst condition corse I have ever seen. I have played this course before but it has been a year or so. Today I payed over $80 to play this trashed layout. Save your money. First I pulled up and was told the “range” was closed for maintenance on Wednesdays. It had mats that looked like green concrete but ok. The practice green is in awful shape, should have been a warning, with no chipping signs everywhere as if I could hurt this sanded mess. We teed off behind a men’s group tournament that guaranteed a 5 hour plus round on a Wednesday morning. There was not a single water jug on the course, not a ball washer. I saw a cart girl once on the front and once on 18. I really feel a full refund is necessary, I would have gone back to the clubhouse but was so mad I just left. This place needs to shut the doors and everybody working there needs to be banned from ever setting foot on a golf course again.

The conditions are just awful. The greens have no grass. They’re just mud pits covered in a half inch layer of coarse sand and mulch. You’ll spend 10 minutes on every green just picking up twigs and acorn caps from your line. They’re charging $85 for a course that shouldn’t be more than $20 a green fee. The golf carts are falling apart. Pace of play has always been a problem out there. Driving range “grass” was terrible. Range balls don’t have dimples. I hope this place changes mgmt and superintendents soon because the layout is great. Everything else is lacking, to say the least.

The greens are gone and will take months to repair. Texas summer will kill them again

Nice surroundings with a lot or deer, roustic or simple golf course, greens in bad shape or in the recovery proces after winter

Tee boxes and fairways were alright but the greens were terrible. It was like playing plinko on sand. I have played Silverhorn before but it may be awhile before I play it again. Definitely not worth the price with those conditions.

The greens are in horrible shape. I don’t know what happened here but this used to be one of the best courses in San Antonio. No longer, Sad.

I am a long time resident of San Antonio and play all courses in a 60 mile radius.

I have not golfed Silverhorn in 1-1/2 years but booked a round this past weekend with my wife.

We can Honestly say that Silverhorn is in terrible condition and in our opinion the Worst in the SA Tex area. Compared to all city courses it is Horrible by far. Greens are all terrible with no grass and the fairways are not much better.

We pain $125 pp and can truly say We Will Never Go Back.

I guess the new owners are sucking all the money out and letting the place die. Sad.

Layout is dope. Gotta to be able to shot shape off the tee, and know where to hit the ball. Fairways were decent, a lot of dead spots though. Greens were god awful. Fun course with a ton of potential but wouldn’t come back cuz of the greens.

They’ve lost the greens on most holes. I only play here when there are no tee times available at my club and I regret it every time. On a positive note the company was good and the weather was great.

Challenging layout of a course that desperately needs some TLC. Greens were in bad shape with lots of sand and still uneven. Tee boxes are so dry and hard you need a hammer to put in your tee.

All could be forgiven if the green fees were commensurate with the condition of the course/greens. I had booked 2 tee times for a corporate outing and was pretty embarrassed with the conditions. I may come back on my own at some point but I will verify before booking what condition the course is in.
