SilverHorn Golf Club of Texas
About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

SilverHorn 4/21
Silverhorn is always one of my favorite course.
However starting to see some wear and tear a lack of maintenance.
The area saw some rain Sunday so you would expect some muddy conditions. However, there were wood chip on almost every cart part making them slippery to walk on.
Several green are in rough share. 15,16 have bald spot. There were tire mark nears several greens on the course.
16'stee box has been a disaster for several years and there has been no work to repair it.
There is no drinking water on the course and for warm days it is needed.
One the few course with no GPS in the carts.
Great course
Staff at pro shop are great !! Friendly and welcoming.
Course is in great shape.
This Gem Losing its Luster
Silverhorn is a great course but they don't seem to have enough water to keep up the fairways and the greens are suffering also.
This course was great!
First time playing here, the course was in pretty good condition and the pace of play wasn’t too bad for how many people were playing.
Course is a great value. Wouldn't order food they forget to make it and tell you they were just too busy. Waited 30 min no one else was eating had to get a refund.
Slow Pace
Played in just under 5 hours. Saw a Marshall and asked what was the hold up to which he said he didn't know.
Fast greens with the odd bare spot.
Great layout
Great course and layout, only drawbacks being the condition of the greens - some choppy, some sandy, some almost bare. That may be due to weather conditions area going through though. Pace of play and spacing of groups was excellent, challenging and fun design to holes. Biggest controllable shortcoming is lack of water coolers or ball cleaners on entire course. Those are minor drawbacks - woul definitely recommend course!
SilverHorn
A great golf course year round I play her at least 40 times a year.
A great staff always friendly.
I recommend this course for anyone that wants to go to a great course.
Fun course, but plays slow
Played as a twosome and ended up behind several slow playing foursomes. 15-20 minutes per hole. I don’t mind things slowing down, as long as the groups in front make some sort of effort. They need a Marshall on the course to help with the pace of play. Unfortunately it ‘par for the course’ here.
A little stacked up
Played on a Monday afternoon hot deal. Wind was a factor as it seemed people were having to hit extra shots. We were slow from the second hole on but the company was good.5 1/2 hours but had a great time
Overpriced and underwhelming
Rude and unprofessional staff. Not friendly or welcoming to people of color. The white dude who runs the place is a complete horses you know what. He told me and my African American friend that the range was closed, as we watched 75 elderly white gentleman hit balls from a driving range that was clearly open. Its sad really, today felt like the 1950’s all over again. Places like this should not be allowed on Golf Now’s platform, its a bad look.
Aside from that, its overpriced for what you get. You can get better value for your money elsewhere. Also, I rented a set of clubs that somehow doubled as both the worst quality, and most expensive set ive ever used. Make it make sense? I would avoid this place at all costs, unless youre a local, senior golfer. My biggest regret is that I cant give zero stars.
Lots of potential
Because of timing, wasn't able to catch this course in prime conditions. I suspect it would be a spectacular track. Really like the layout but course conditions were less than stellar due to time of year.
