About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

Good course and decent price
I've been playing at Silverhorn last few months and course is layout is pretty good. Front 9 are wide and well kept. Back 9 are bit hard and narrow but good challenge. You will be see some good wild life such as deer, bucks, ducks, turtles, racoon, fox, eagles.
I enjoy playing here especially when you get golfnow deal. Their driving range is good which is off grass beside Wednesday.

Par 3 16th hole is a Design Mess!
Par 3 16th hole is a design mess. Back half of green is unplayable with severe slopes or your ball will just roll off green into the hazard.
Tee boxes don't offer any flat tee areas. Tee boxes have a high crown running down the middle.
This hole needs to be reworked from tee to green. Players need to be aware of the problems with this hole.

Tee boxes need attention.
Tee Boxes need work. Some need better grass. Others need to be leveled out. Hole 16 tee box is terrible and needs a complete redo. Please level this mess out. Wouldn't take that much work to fix but nothing gets done about it. Shame.
Not worth the money
We never saw a marshal. Staff was not very friendly. Pace could have been helped along with a marshal. Did not seem worth the money .

Bad pin positions.
Stop using the same pin area positions every Sunday. Always pin position C. Please put pin on hole 16 anywhere but back right. Not a playable area of this green. Ball just rolls off green. Stupid setup. Also, how long do your golfers have to wait for you to level out back tee box on hole 16?
We loved the layout
Really nice track. We loved the choice of tees. The bunkers were beautiful.
The only problem was the call to put the course on
“cart path only. “. It was after 1: o’clock pm, no. Rain the night before. There were some wet spots—does not drain well. Sunny and easy to avoid the wet areas by using common sense.
Very inconvenient for old golfers with bad backs.

Course in good condition except for tee boxes. Narrow fairways so expect to lose some balls.

Good greens and good turf in the fairways. Tight fairways made it a bit challenging but enjoyable if you were able to stay out of the rough. Would definitely play it again

A great challenging course
Silverhorn is a great course especially for the value and is very challenging. It’s a course that I look forward to playing a lot more and lowering my score each time I play learning to play with narrower fairways that I’m used to and longer par 4’s and par 5’s than some of the other courses in San Antonio. The greens are a little hard and fast but manageable. I’ve heard from other reviews that the pace of play was bad but honestly the two times I’ve e played recently it’s been really good right at that 3:55-4:15 hour and minute play time for 18 holes. I highly recommend this course if you really want to challenge yourself!!!
