SilverHorn Golf Club of Texas
About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

Very nice course.
Would definitely play here again when we are in town.
H2O
I like just about everything about this course. It’s close proximity in San Antonio. The Staff. But I find it hard to believe that there’s no drinking water on the course. The carts do have ice chest, but with the heat in San Antonio, there should be water made available throughout the course.
One of my favorite courses
This course is fun to play, not too difficult and usually in great shape. We did run into a couple of bare tee boxes and few greens burnt around the edges. Fairways were in great shape!
Pass
This place use to be much nicer. The course conditions have diminished. Also, not one water station on an entire 18 hole course. They are asking for stroke victims here. Will not be back.
Great day of golf
Booked a hot deal with Golfnow. Got to the course about 20 minutes early. Proshop guy was friendly and checked me in.
Ended up with 3 other guys that turned out to be nice guys. We hit some good shots. Some bad ones but everyone kept a level head and it was a great round.
Last minute!
Had to make a last minute change in my golf course (thought I had a round at the Quarry but it was for next week!! My bad) and went to Golf Now to check what course was available on a Saturday! Found this course for a somewhat reasonable cost for a Saturday. I was happy and joined another single and we blew thru the course until the last 4-5-holes where we joined up to play with them at the last hole. Anyways I'm happy!
Weather-related maintenance issues
The condition of the course and the greens were not great. Grass was too long and crispy on both fairways and greens, and the greens were soft. All of this is likely due to high temperatures and limited maintenance budget and staff, but it still makes it less than desirable to play.
Great Pace Today
We have played this course many times. I typically don’t like to play here because of the pace, but on a Thursday afternoon, in 100 degree heat it was fantastic!
Of course was an OK shape. Quite a few bald spots and washout areas with rocks in them.. I definitely don’t think it’s worth the price but then again a lot of golf courses on these days
Silverhorn
Course was in great shape. Fairways were lush. Greens (although recently aerated) were smooth, fairly fast and receptive to iron shots.
