SilverHorn Golf Club of Texas
About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

Eddie
Perfect day for golf, greens were very good. Recommend this course.
Great deal, great course
Got a hot deal through golf now app. Amazing course even in the wet conditions. Definitely a course that requires you to be straight off the tees. Also the par 5s are great risk reward holes. One of the better courses in terms of layout and conditions for this time of year in San Antonio.
Nice Course
Greens were immaculate cool to see all the deer as I played each hole. Friendly staff playing this Sunday ! Highly recommend
Great course fair price
The course itself was in great condition. The greens were a little slow but were in fantastic shape for winter. Extremely fun to play.
Good value for the price
Golfed this course on a Hot Deal. The staff was very helpful and friendly; the course was great for a winter Texas golf experience. It was easy to get distracted from golf by the deer, birds and other animals. :)
Solid Course
My 2nd time playing while visiting San Antonio. Really like this course, somewhat of a tight layout with the trees but still very getable with good tee shots. Greens were in phenomenal shape. Definitely recommended.
Nice track
This course was alot of fun and presented lots of challenges that you would expect from a narrow woodlined course. I was fortunate to get paired w/a few regulars that were happy to share the local knowledge and expose the hidden features.
Deer are everywhere out here and will walk right up to you...pretty cool.
The one downside was the range. It was pretty chewed up and they close it frequently to collect balls because they use a tractor without a cage for protection...pretty inconvenient if you’re pressed up against your tee time. I also found it mind boggling that the right side (slice side) of the range runs freely into the cart path of the 9th fairway. No protection or nets...just a sign surrounded by arrant golf balls warning you of the danger. Seems bizarre that they would allow their patrons to be exposed like that when they could easily put up nets like evry other golf course on the planet as a preventative measure.
Overall it was a great course with friendly staff though and I would definitely go back.
Eddie
Course was in good shape, greens were very good. Pace was a little slow due to a tournament.
Good price poor to below average condition
The course has been in better condition. I realize it is Winter, however the greens have ball marks that are days old and have not been repaired. There are areas where the Irrigation system has been leaking and the ground is so saturated your foot sinks into the mud. There are ball washers that are out of water and some traps have very little sand. It is obvious maintenance is lacking.
LONG!
COURSE IS IN GOOD SHAPE BUT IS LONG-don't expect to make all the greens in regulation!
I highly recommend this beautiful course in the middle of San Antonio!
Silverhorn Review
Even with the fairways dormant due to winter this course still amazes me. The greens were plush and stood out boldly making all the approach shots even more exciting.
I cannot wait to go back.
1.4 18 round @ 1:06 PM
Been to Silverhorn plenty, however this visit was a little difficult. I booked on Golfnow and paid $45.00 but the pro shop rep made me feel like you all were doing me a favor playing there...he needs plenty people/customer service training. Don't know his name but I hope he gets better at representing your businsd and your customers. Thank you.
Greatness
Top shape like always ..just need marshalls for extreme slow play on some groups like a threesome holding up a foursome.
Ok, or a little better
I believe I would have enjoyed the course much better had it not been for recent weather. The course was cart path only, and 2 feet from cart path was no face, just mud. So every shot was get out of cart, tip toe through mud until fairway and walk back through mud to cart. Otherwise, it was a nice lay-out.
best course in San Antonio
you cant find a better course in San Antonio, course is well taken care of, keeps you thinking, wish the pace of play stays the way it was.
Nice As Usual
This course is always in decent shape and with very accommodating people. The nice weather made it an better experience. Things are well organized as all players and tee imes are routinly announced.
Slow pace
Course was in good shape. Fun to play. However, was paired up w another twosome who were much much slower than my partner and I. Lots of other groups were slow ahead as well. Other than that it was all good.
