Canyon Springs Golf Club is a true Hill Country course. You need to stay on the fairways or bring plenty of balls. Using an old farm to build on this choice piece of Texas real estate, this land has been artfully transformed into what many golfers will refer to as among the very best of what Texas has to offer. With five sets of tee boxes on each hole, demanding greens, natural Hill Country surroundings and magnificent limestone waterfalls on two holes, this 7,000-plus-yard course presents a significant challenge to event the most experienced golfers (and even those who think they are).

Canyon Springs on 4/21

The course was in nice condition, the greens were amazingly slow. They rolled fairly true and were pretty hard but very very slow. I don't know if additional groups were allowed to start on back nine but play was quick on front about an hour and 40 minutes. We got to 10 and there was a 3 group back up and it took a full hour longer to play back than front. Not to cool!

Great day of golf

Course is in great condition and the greens are finally softening up after being replaced last year. Will be back to play soon.

Their new greens are amazing. Course layout is challenging and fun. Recommend for golfers who love a beautiful track. Not walkable!

Awesome challenge

I booked the round not knowing what to expect as it was my first time there. The staff was professional and I headed to the first tee.

Although the course layout was challenging there were plenty of birdie opportunities. The wind on that day made some par 4's difficult to reach in two but par could still be made. The greens were in excellent shape and I totally recommend this course.

They also had a Youth Program. Being a bowling instructor working with youth myself I tip my hat to Canyon Springs for their involvement.

Canton Springs

The course was in overall good condition for this time of year.

The driving ramble and practice greens were closed, so unable to comment on those.

Really glad I was playing in a group that had course knowledge. Several blind or semi-blind tee shots from the tips.

Greens were very firm, which was to be expected, but they weren’t rolling quite as fast as one would expect.

Was not happy to pay $5 for a small bottle of Gatorade at the turn.

The pace of play was something of a pain. As busy as it was, not sure why there was no Marshall to help speed up play.

Canyon Springs

Great track. Greens were hard since they've recently replaced them but very green and smooth considering we just had a bad freeze.

Great layout ruined by pace

Beautiful and well maintained course ruined by pace of play. 3 groups waiting on every tee box on holes 15, 16, 17, 18. No marshalls on course.

Challenging and Scenic

Amongst public courses near San Antonio, I’d consider Canyon Springs one of the more challenging courses. The combo of elevation changes, some tough fairways, and fast greens can expose weaknesses in your game. Course is in awesome shape, well managed pace of play, and I always have a great time playing. Would recommend to any skill level!

Very Nice Course

I toke the tee time on short notice, but had read some reviews about the course and pace of play. Although the pace was just about 5 hours it certainly did not feel like I had spent 5 hours on the course. Course is in great winter shape. As long as you stay on the fairways you will enjoy your round here.
