About
Canyon Springs Golf Club is a true Hill Country course. You need to stay on the fairways or bring plenty of balls. Using an old farm to build on this choice piece of Texas real estate, this land has been artfully transformed into what many golfers will refer to as among the very best of what Texas has to offer. With five sets of tee boxes on each hole, demanding greens, natural Hill Country surroundings and magnificent limestone waterfalls on two holes, this 7,000-plus-yard course presents a significant challenge to event the most experienced golfers (and even those who think they are).

Golfer Reviews
Great deal great course
Course was in remarkable shape despite weeks of high temperatures and no rain. Greens ran true and challenging. Sand traps not up to other standards of the course.
Staff personnel were customer- focused and very friendly. Will definitely recommend to others.
As a senior golfer, I enjoyed the variety of tee boxes.
Be sure to bring your rangefinders. Limited yardage markers on the course.
Starter Issues
This day I had a tee time along with 3 strangers who were playing with a GolfNow greens fee like myself. I approached the starter and gave him my tee time and went off to putt near the 1st tee. There were other golfers at the 1st tee getting ready to begin play. Apparently, a single was paired up to play with my 3 players! He allowed the single to fall back to my tee time and didn't tell me what was going on. I had already asked the starter if my other 3 players were here and he said "No, I don't know where they are." The 4 players teed off and I was stuck alone, with 2 other foursomes coming up next. Geez!! I played alone and caught up to my "group," playing a fivesome for a few holes. Mind you I had to wait behind them for 6 holes. Unbelievable! The starter botched starting my foursome. If he had some intelligence he would have had 2 of us start, then 3 go off, splitting our group. Coincidentally, I separated our group and ended up playing the back 9 with that single. That old starter made the round of golf frustrating.
Canyon Springs
First time on this track and left very impressed. Our two-some was put together with two members and it could not have worked out better. Their knowledge of the course made the round even more enjoyable. The course itself is in great shape. The greens are in good shape, only a few questionable spots. The staff is very friendly and are more than happy to answer any questions. The only negative I would say is, that the course seemed to be over watered in some areas. I can not wait to come back and play here again!
Challenging but fair
All around nice course. Fairways like carpet, true rolling greens. I enjoy playing this course even though I am a true blue hacker.
Great golf course
This course was above and beyond what I had expected and the staff is very friendly. I would recommend this course to anyone, by far one of the best public courses I’ve ever played.
Tough layout, but a great challenge
We played the blue tees and the course played very tough despite only playing 6500 yards. You can pretty much leave your driver in the bag if you're a long hitter due to short landing zones and many hazards. My big complaint is the lack of yardage markers on the tees and fairways. No GPS on the carts made it especially difficult. Come prepared with a range finder.
Nice course
The course is great. When I have time and find a good deal I target this course. My only gripe this time around is that they would not let me play by my self. I know it’s selfish. It that is really how I enjoy the game the most. The reason was that it was busy, however they let us go as a double and we only passed one other slow double, and one slow single. We were playing fast and I am sure it wasn’t as busy as they made it out to be. Still appreciate they didn’t make us wait for 2 more to send us out as a foursome.
Fabulous Hill Country Golf!
Great layout -- lots of challenges, but different tee boxes for all levels of golfer. Greens suffering a bit, but course overall was in terrific shape!
Had some hiccups on pace of play- management addressed immediately
This is one of my favorite courses in town. Great layout and elevation changes keep it fun. Course is in great shape now with recent rains. Pace of play was a bit slow but the management addressed it and shared the investments they continue to make to improve the pace. This is a top three course in San Antonio regardless of green fees.
Fun Golf Course
Canyon Springs has holes that are visually intimidating, but there is more room than you think. The par 3's have a lot of character and difference in length. I'll definitely play it again.
Friendly place to play
From the moment you arrive everyone is ready to make your round enjoyable. The staff makes sure you get a great start and then the course delivers a challenging round. I will definitely take my golf buddies to play this course.
Bad Shape!
Well overpriced considering the condition of the greens and bunkers. Fairways were in good condition, best parts of the course. Booked through Golf Now app for $50 bucks with a 3:30 tee off, but again, not a good value given the disrepair of the greens and bunkers.
I played the Palmer course at La Cantera for $65 in the afternoon the week prior to Canyon Springs; well worth the money, the course was in terrific condition.
