As an ex-member I was looking forward to introducing my friend to the Farleigh experience ...it was not a good one. When I booked in there was no knowledge of the booking through golf now..they managed to get us off and the first 9 holes were good ..but approaching the tenth tee there was a society with 3 groups still to tee off..so we tried going off the red course tee ...there was a club competition there so unable to tee off ..the pro shop answer was to wait and have something to eat while the tees cleared..we decided that we would have to play the same 9 again which we did ..very slow ..no marshal's out all visit ...very pricey at the bar for non members
Fantastic greens
Course in good condition, with a good variety of holes
great course layout
After days of rain course had dried up and played well, pace was good and its a friendly place. Playing through was easy and they shout Fore! Something young folk are struggling with these days, if they could text you in time they probably would. Facilites are excellent.
Fantastic Condition
I played with a friend who said they’d recently done some work to Farleigh. Honestly, they’ve done a great job, fairways were in perfect nick, greens were receptive but also very fast! The only issue was we were told to start on the Blue 9 but ended up being in between a few groups of 4 balls. However the round was still incredibly pleasant and I wouldn’t say no to playing here again :)
Well-kept and great value off-peak
Not the prettiest course, but the layout is interesting enough with a good variety of different holes. The big draw is how well it’s looked after - it’s always in great condition and off-peak rates are great value given the quality of the green-keeping. And the staff both in the clubhouse and on the course are always super friendly and helpful. It can get a bit busy and slow at peak times, but so does everywhere.
Warning do not play after 4
We turned up to Farleigh Golf club to tee off at 17:34, plenty of time to get a round in before sunset. I was then told by pro shop staff that the gates to the club would close at 20:30 and we needed to be out by then or our cars would be locked in the car park.
Needless to say the round was not enjoyable with the time pressure and we had to walk off the course before the end as a sub 3 hour round was never going to be possible.
No where on here is this mentioned, Farleigh do not email this out. Selling tee times that a round cannot be completed on is a pretty dishonorable way to run a business.
Avoid playing this course after 4.
