Beautiful scenic golf course
Beautiful golf course. Quite hilly set in a scenic countryside setting. Very relaxing as no noise of roads, etc. I play off 12 and I found the course reasonably difficult although I wasn’t playing my best. But although I didn’t have a great game I thoroughly enjoyed my day as every single hole is stunning. This was my first visit and I look forward to returning.
What happened to the green keeper
I have played this course a few times over the years and never been so disappointed with the greens .as I was Saturday. No warning from staff when collecting score card .the only reason for such poor greens ,most be they sacked the green keeper and he has took revenge .won't be returning in a hurry .shame as is a lovely course
Avoid
Avoid you have been warned it’s absolutely disgusting condition we go back every 3?months hoping for the tees fairways greens to be improved sick of being disappointed won’t ever go back no excuses after a 4 months lockdown
Course review 25/04
The golf course was great to play yesturday, the fairways seemed to be in particularly good condition with lots of bounce from the dry weather. The only thing that lets this course down is the greens, the are very Sandy and always have holes punched him then for water draining. The sand makes it extremely difficult to put and some holes it was like putting on concrete there was no grass there at all.
Greens let the course down
I have given course conditions a 3 out of 5. The course in general was in good condition however the greens were poor. Putting was a game of luck. We were warned when we started that the greens weren't in the best condition,. Based on that warning and the condition of the rest of the course, I would put this down to Covid rather than a regular problem.
I would play here again once the greens are in a better state, which with time I'm sure they will be
Potential
Layout great potential but post lockdown needs a lot of work and most greens suffering disease. A good test of golf. Ps needs sign for temp green on long par 5 on tee so you are aware before you start.
Interesting layout presenting a good challenge, however, greens still need work.
I played in the morning in beautiful sunshine and perfect weather conditions. The course has varying levels of difficulty of holes presenting a good challenge for any golfer.
The fairways were in great condition considering the current climate, however, if inaccurate it will be very difficult to locate your ball or you will have a terrible lie due to the many many ruts of old trees and holes from wildlife. Not really the courses fault - More a victim to its location in a heavily wooded area.
Every green still needs a lot of work with one currently under repair and been replaced with a tiny patch which wasn’t worth playing on. However, given the current global climate and the price paid, this is to be expected.
Overall an enjoyable experience with excellent value for money (£25), which is probably reflective of the greens current condition and definitely a course I will come back to play again as no doubt the greens will only get better.
Fantastic
Great little course slightly out the way and the green wasn’t in the best nick but this course was brilliant, signs at the tee box with some great information on every course should have these.
Lovely course
Done a lot of work on drainage and tree trimming /removing allowing a lot more light onto the course. Looks good greens are getting there now a nice walk and course to play. I’m not the most accurate of drivers and there are several fairways that are more forgiving but a few “tests” also. Enjoyable round, Will definitely play again and recommend as I always have. Love playing here.
Great course that needs some care and attention.
The greens weren’t playable, this meant you couldn’t play a fair game. The rest of the course was OK, but all short shots were a lottery. The course has excellent potential but at the moment is in poor condition.
if you want to putt don’t play here
course was was really nice and a good test, unfortunately i did not enjoy my round because of the worse greens i have ever played on
Good golf
Great course, needs to dry out but so does everywhere
Greens were pockmarked. 15th Hole Green didn't exist
Weather was perfect. The layout is poor. The Course conditions were poor. I even lost 2 balls that I hit in the middle of the fairway from the Tee because the fairway? conditions were horrible in some holes.
Horrible conditions
For a course that’s been closed for months I expected the conditions to be better. Even for a cheap round it was really poor. Fairways were more like 1st cut, 2nd cut in places. Greens were atrocious, lumps of sand all over the place, almost pointless trying to putt on some of them.
