Course in great condition
Enjoyable round. Course in great condition. Friendly staff. Only negative is that there are too many short par 4’s.
nice course
Second time I have played this course recently and each time it has been pleasurable. Testing without being penal it is always a good challenge but not a hardship. A nicely designed course.
nice course
Always a pleasure to play this course. It is testing without being arduous. Not hilly but with every hole separate it gives a nice round. scarified greens made putting a slight lottery, but that is likely to wear through as the days go on.
Variety of holes
Short golf course with a variety of holes and tight tee shots.
A lot of the bunkers were water logged when we played but there had been heavy rain a few days prior. Greens were in good condition speed considering the rain.
Will definitely be back once it dries out.
Some lovely inviting holes
A beautiful autumnal afternoon at Finchley golf club, with greens in excellent shape with a couple of repair areas on a couple but this did not affect play. Some fairways had bald areas but to be expected after the dry summer, recent rain did make some bare lies awkward.
The signature par 3 12th uphill through a tunnel of trees to a plateau green with clubhouse behind was stunning. Managed a couple of birdies on the back 9 which is always nice and will ensure I will return :0)) A good mix of holes, rolling hills and some tricky doglegs and cannily placed bunkers keep you your toes!
All in all a lovely day and would recommend.
Top Course in Great condition
Booked our tee time through Golf Now UK which was a Hot deal promotion so fantastic Value for Money.
Enjoyed the course which was in Very Good condition and the greens were very well maintained and challenging.
There was no hold up any holes and the course played at a good pace during the whole round.
I would Highly Recommend the course and will definitely back again soon with some more of my new to golf buddies. The bar service was controlled very well and served our drinks to our table under the current Covid restrictions and regulations.
Nice course, great value
Played for first time after getting a great deal on the green fee. Course is well maintained, greens were a good pace (not too fast, as they apparently can be) and in good condition. Nice setting at the club house with a view of a couple of greens and a full view of the 18th. Would happily play again, thanks Finchley for having us. Jack.
Excellent course
This was my first time playing Finchley GC and I really enjoyed the round. The greens are in fantastic condition and were much faster than other courses in the area. The course is set up fairly and if you are offline from the tee you will find your ball but likely have trees blocking your next shot. There are a few short par 4s which you can either attack or lay up.
Lovely greens
Course in great condition considering how dry it's been through June and July with lush fairways
Greens were immaculate and lovely to putt on.
Pace of play was good too, didn't have to wait much on tees to play your shot.
Played this course many times and will play again.
Greens as good as you can get
Has a fantastic afternoon at Finchley Golf Club. Visiting from Wiltshire I searched for a course that tested my golf across North and West London. I considered Richmond Park and New Malden amongst others, settling for Finchley. The reviews suggested a quicker game than Richmond and a more friendly welcome with better greens than others. After a very warm welcome by the pro, I warmed up in the excellent practice facilities (nets, chipping, putting). Covid rules were pretty straight forward (one way system in pro shop, one person at a time in the washroom, main club house closed). The course views are excellent, the layout a great test (but fair), the greens... absolutely perfect. How the clubs kept the greens so pure during the restrictions is beyond me. The dry weather has got to the fairway in places, but the course is fighting back (6” placing in fairway and in bunkers). All in all a great afternoon of golf.
