Course is extremely tired

General condition was very poor, majority of bunkers were G.U.R.

Greens were awful , bumpy, patchy with little evidence of maintenence.

Course for the price is good, Just a shame the bunkers are all in bad shape and most of the greens are poor other wise it's somewhere good to come to get your game up to scratch

Great course, great value

Course is good fun and challenging. The layout could be confusing, lots of going back on yourselves and no course maps are available. The course was boggy in parts, but that didn’t detract from the playing.

Overall really enjoyed our game there and are planning to return this weekend.

Why all the bad reviews?

Took a punt on this course as only £20 and relatively close to me. What a pleasant suprise! Tee boxes well kept, fairways decent, 1st cut of rough not too long so you can find your ball. Course over all was on very good condition and played very well, some greens did haveoss patches or were litteres with leaves. This course is very undulating with some steep(ISH) inclines, this means that on nearly every shot you are playing above or below your feet.

What did frustrate me towards the end was the amount of blind shots you have to make, meaning you are unaware where your ball has landed and it did take a while on occasion to locate my ball. Some tee boxes could have done with a ’guide on how the hole is layed out' as the course picture didn't do it justice.

At £20 this course is a steal, you are not going to get top class fairways or greens, but they are more than playable.

If you're a high handicapper then this course is ideal for practicing course management and uneven lie play.

Whish I had taken some photos as some of the views were spectacular.

Very beautiful course

Very hilly though. I was pretty tired by the end.

Some of the greens are not in the best condition

Some of that is down to the lateness of the year and some due to other players not repairing their pitch marks.

Thoroughly enjoyed it though and definitely plan to play again.

Cheap but not brilliant

£20 for 18 holes at peak time is an amazing price these days. However, the course leaves a lot to be desired. We teed off at 10:30 on a Saturday in September. There was no one at the pro shop at this time so we checked in at the bar which was fine. The fairways were the longest I’ve ever seen by far, the greens were in very poor condition as well. The course is exceptionally hilly, which does provide a challenge but I was quite tired of having the ball 3 foot above or below my feet towards the end. Overall decent value for money but I wouldn’t come back for a while

Excellent value golf near Exeter

For the cost of a round it's difficult to beat Fingle Glen from mid-Summer to early Autumn when the course is in good condition. However, I can imagine the course being wet and soft in the winter months. The bar is very nice and the staff are very friendly. There's 2 driving nets and a practice pitch / putting green. There's also a very nice indoor trackman facility.

Cheap but course needs work

First time playing here. No pro shop that I could find, so you have to check in at the bar. Friendly staff.

The course is ok in terms of design, but it's not in great condition. The greens are quite poor. Many of the bunkers were in a pretty sorry state. With that said, I guess you shouldn't complain too much when only paying £20 for a round.

Saturday Jolly

Second time playing this course .Some 8 years earlier however. Myself and two friends wanted a cheap Saturday lunchtime round which we got for £15 each . Course has lost hole number 1 in those years so everything moved by one and a par 3 added on the 18th . The course itself played well but could have benefited from a good cut . The greens were very bare and mainly brown however putted better than you thought they would. Signage could have been a lot better and a course map on scorecard would have helped . No Pro shop so have to visit the lovely ladies in the long bar . They are the true asset to the club in welcoming us both before the game and after. Food after was a BBQ for either burger or hotdog. My playing partner dined and said was very good so full marks to the chef .Back to the course and must mention it’s very hilly with a few quirky holes but a great little knock was had by the three of us.

Hilly and technical

Played here a few times and playing in 28c heat proved to be even more of a workout than it normally is. Still enjoyable but by no means easy with lots of testing holes

Fingle Glen, Exetrr

Played 18 holes.

Course was relatively quiet.

It’s quite a hilly course so strongly recommend you hire a buggy, we didn’t and it was hard going towards the end.

Course was in good condition.

Nice bar are and food was good.

Great Test

Had a lovely round of golf Friday. Weather was good but not amazing. Course was in great fettle. Greens were firm and fast. a little bumpy but didnt effect my putting. Fairways were pure and the tees were lovely. Great test and one im looking forward to playing again.

Food after was exceptional. portion size was huge! All in all a great day.
