Frodsham Golf Club

The fairways and tees are in good condition but the green are in poor condition. They are bobbly and not well maintained. The signposting is poor leaving us to ask people several times where the next tee is. Can’t massively complain when we played £16 each but I’m going to avoid this course in future

Some great holes with fantastic views .

The course was well presented given the amount of work currently underway. The building of new tee’s to a number of holes does not impact the round.

The greens need attention but I’m sure they will be back to their best soon.

Staff were very helpful and explained they have recently taken on new ground staff.

Will definitely be back next month.

The thing that ruined the trip was the greens, they where in an absolutely awful state! You can’t putt on them whatsoever as there worn away completely and have big lumps of turf missing on them.

Course always a challenge always nice views from higher parts of the course looking towards Wales and Liverpool, greens need some work but playable and a good price

I have played frodsham golf course today and to say I was dissatisfied would be an understatement. I have payed £16 to play there which i thought at first was a good price as I have played there quite a few years ago and remembered it to be a nice course. When myself and my playing partner got there we could see that work was being done to put in new tee boxes but that caused us no issues. The issue we had was on the greens. They where absolutely appalling and that is being generous. No maintenance has gone into them from what I can see and in my opinion we would of been better off putting on a winter green on the fairway. The course layout and views are great but in my opinion for how bad the greens where I think I overpaid by about £8-£10. The picture I have added doesn’t show how many divots and holes are on the bit that looks like a green but every green on the course was like this.

This is a good knock round, plenty of good long holes that allows you to open up and let rip.

Fairways were in good condition but the greens need some serious work and perhaps that’s what let’s it down as you cannot get the opportunity for a true putt.

We played one hole as the greens on the course were absolutely disgraceful, we checked hole 2 and 3 and they where the same literally unplayable Also the fairways needed cutting too... this golf courses is the worsted I've ever played so bad we left after one hole. Do not waist your money... I'm going to be requesting a full refund of golf now...

I’ve played at Frodsham a few times, even considered membership but I won’t go again until something is done about the greens. In some places it was just bare soil! It’s never , ever been like this before. Some attention is being given to fairways and tees ( there even building new ones and mushing up the course with digger ruts) but it seems like nothing is being done with the greens. Okay, there being cut but not much else. I’m sure they’ll blame COVID just like everyone does now for poor service or late deliveries but I’d put up with the work on the course and come again frequently if you knew you had a chance on the greens. It’s a disaster, no wonder there was hardly anyone else playing. This looks like a club that’s about to die. If I knew how to , I’d ask for a refund. My advice is ....don’t go.

Lovely course friendly staff lots of improvements happening, pleasantly surprised of the views and layout

A real shame. Such lovely scenery up in the hills of Frodsham but disappointing overall. Got lost several times due to lack of signage to tees. No distance markers on the course and no clear maps of the holes left me questioning where the hole was, I even shot towards an adjacent flag at one point! The course was under construction but no excuse for the poor paths full of potholes, I’m surprised my clubs survived this round.

I first played this course just over a month ago and thought the condition of the greens and tees were pretty bad. However, I played again last weekend and saw great improvements. Fair enough, it’s still got a way to go but from what I could see, there is lots of investment (workmen putting fences up on weekends won’t be cheap). Lots of evidence of greens and new tees being developed so give it another year, and I think this course might be charging top dollar for a round. Here’s hoping cos the surroundings deserve a truly great course.

The course had no clubhouse facilities at all, it resembles a building site and the greens were truly appalling. I have played this course a few times before and I have never seen the greens in this state. I wish I could have a refund. A total waste of a day
