Messingham Grange - Championship Course

Played today for the 1st time and I will not be returning!! Tee boxes are shocking , hole 11 is an accident waiting to happen . Rabbit holes all over the fairways . Weeds on a majority of Fairways . A severe lack of care !! The only positive I could give is the greens . Not brilliant but ok . If also like to add the pace of play was very slow over 4 hrs 20 mins for a 3 ball . Will definitely not be returning

fantastic place course was very dry and hard needs water but fantastic place

No real club house, just use the bar in the resurant.

Teas were in very poor condition, little grass, fairways hard to distinguish, overgrown, lots of badger hols etc. Green were only area looked after.

Wouldn't go again. Expensive for what you get. Better around.

Excellent course. Greens wonderful. Drinks and sandwiches were delicious.

Great course with friendly staff. Fairways were dry but as expected due to recent weather conditions. Greens were superb. Well worth the fee.

Driving range and well stocked golf shop across the road.

Would be great as a golfing holiday destination too

There were far too many people on the course at any one time which leads me to think that the bookings had gone wrong and people were just jumping on

I know we haven't had much rain but at least 6 of the fairways were like straw. Not sure i

The course has had much attention or work done but even the tees were scruffy with overflowing bins etc

I think it could be a good course but it will need a bit of work and money spending on it

Was not happy on arriving at the first tee to see it was closed,shortly after a guy showed up and told us the 18th tee was also closed due to an event that was taking place close to the club house. Was not told this when we arrived, otherwise would not have booked. Spoilt our game. Greens were not as good as they usually are neither. We play this course often but this has put us off booking again.

Really good course, friendly staff booking in. I think they may need to refill the sand in the bunkers as I spent so much time in them ! 😀 Good fun, thanks.

Was dissapointed on arrival, after booking online we were not told that holes 1 and18 were closed due to an event going on, spoilt our game and was not happy.

First time playing this course as it was recommended by a friend.

An absolute wonderful course with a driving range just across the road.

Emailed in regards to taking my son so he could walk around with us as he’s taken an interest in golf. Had an email reply saying that they wouldn’t usually allow this but learning the etiquette of how a golf course works they would make an exception. I can’t thank them enough as he is autistic and absolutely loved his time with us, he was even telling me which club I needed to use next (was mostly the wrong club) but smiles all round regardless.

Will definitely be back here again some time in the future.

Course is still set to winter conditions. Artifical Tees on all holes. Course shortened due to this, Greens in good condition for time of year. Fairways also good.

Nice course, obviously still winter tees for most and quite a bit of GUR both generally a good course.

Greens fast considering they’ve been hollow tined. Fairways struggling from damage caused by crows in search of chafer grubs, lots of damage to fairways, especially around 8-12.

Currently no hot food at the moment due to ongoing modernisation of the clubhouse.

Turned up to find 2 holes closed and 16 “winter “ greens. It looked like they handpicked the hole anywhere without any thought or preparation. Wasn’t informed of this prior to paying green fee or when we turned up and checked in. Learnt this was the case from some members finishing their round so put clubs back in the car and went to nearby course which was open properly. It is not acceptable for clubs to take full green fees and not tell you that it is unplayable.

Excellent course,even in the winter sunshine ! Well worth the visit, to play.

Great variety of holes and great condition for this time of year. Most of tees were forward but still off grass - fairways and greens were consistent

Really enjoyed the course. Lovely menu at clubhouse

Decent course for this time of the year

Only downsides were a few holes closed, couple temp greens and tee boxes basically in fairway , would of liked to know this before I booked but would go again when course fully open

Apart from that it was decently maintained
