Monday morning knock
Course very dry, extreme rough just 2 yards off the fairways, but greens quite slow (needed cutting possibly). Work on the 2nd and 18th tee boxes finished and looks really good now. Overall good time out on the course, £10 each absolute bargain.
Mixed day.
Course conditions were generally good not perfect but as we expected.
Day was almost ruined by what at times were terribly marked tee boxes and directions to next tee. This combined with a lack of any sort of course map on the score card made getting around difficult at times and we were not the only people to play off the wrong tee.
These are issues that would take very little to fix hopefully if we return I will remember my way around
Damp Squib
All on temporary greens apart from 3 holes, poor directional signage if the course is unfamiliar. Ended up teeing off on the 15th instead of the 5th.
Course drainage and temporary greens were not great. Must have taken a 1000yards off the course. Some par 4s were not even a decent par 3 after green had been moved
Friendly staff in the clubhouse.
In better conditions I’m sure I’d have rated higher but I’d avoid in future if been raining at any point in the previous 48hrs
Awful
Paid £23 each ! And had to play on 16 temporary greens which is just awful , the placement of the temps were awful as well , I understand they want the course open but there’s taking the mick and there’s plain daylight robbery, won’t use the course again , considering we play twice a week there as well
Even the weather didn’t dampen the game
Lovely course in great condition, only issue a little bit of criss crossing of fairways, but still great course
A good challenge
A fun course, with some memorable holes, the greens were being treated at time of play, which took the edge off but would not stop us returning.
Some holes require a tee off over the last green, and with plenty of up hill fareways, theres a good challenge to every hole, out of covid I believe the food is excellent as well.
Excellent facilities but not course to match
I have played rounds at Greenway for a number of years and the course has improved a lot over the years but for all the money spent on the off course facilities some more needs to be spent on course. The greens are very poor and personally is the biggest factor in what makes course good. The fairways are ok and layout has improved but could still benefit from some more changes. There are lots of other courses in the area that charge similar green fees but have much better green's and overall course. I will use the driving range as is by far best in the area but will play other courses as not great experience.
Great views of surrounding area
Nice course but the layout isn’t the best a lot of holes cross fairways
First round since lock down
Slight confusion with tee off times, the course was in good condition, some renovation work still underway. Still playing off winter tee's, but good all round.
With all the wet weather we have had course and green's were in good condition.
Tee off time
Arrived at 2pm for Tee off at 2-20 was told that the group for the 2-10 had cancelled but we would still have to wait till 2-20 before starting round this was made worse when gentleman arrived and informed us that he was teeing off at 2-30 by himself, couldn't understand why we were not allowed to tee off immediately as the previous group had left the green so had to stand around for twenty minutes when we could have started.
