Hainsworth Par worth the visit

The course was in good order, greens & fairways well maintained . On course groups/ members were obliging and the pace of play was very good. it had been a year since our last visit and we were not disappointed. The recent dry weather had left water features dry but this did not detract from our enjoyable round . Look forward to another visit . :-)

Surprisingly good.

I forgot to add....the tees were poor. Need water and cutting. Shame.....let the course down....but still playable with enough space.

Surprisingly good.

Didn't expect too much given newish course and lacking reputation and recognition of other courses in the area. The greens were good, fair and true.....some, those being cut where better., with clearly defined aprons which complimented the greens themselves. Fairways good but struggled with lack of rain....some patches of brown earth , particularly around tree areas.

Some holes on back mine were attractive and a pleasure to play. Trees on each hole, plenty of water and sand strategically placed. Good test of golfing skill. I played well for last 7 holes....all of which were challenging and yet rewarding with good shots. Would definitely recommend and will play again.

Clubhouse fine, facilities all good. Car park could do with some new tarmac!

Well worth a visit.

Generally a Good Course

Greens are great, fairways are narrow in most cases, lots of interesting dog legs, so driving distance is key

Two thing to pick up from my POV ....

There needs to be more 'next tee' direction signs, I had to pull up Google earth to try and find two of the next tee of points.

Also I hate red flags in the pins. Im colour blind so trying to spot a red flag is near impossible at a distance (or provide binoculars) 😁

Generally a really nice course, but quite tricky with those dog legs, and massive trees blocking the pin if you drive the wrong side of the fairway

Not bad for the price

A good day only spoilt by a ball nearly hitting one of my playing partners. Having teed off the first a single golfer teed up behind us, we let him through on the 3rd and then were hit into on the 4th by a two ball. We were still on the green when the ball bounced passed head high, I approached the two ball and although a slight apology followed I was told we were too slow.. we were then approached by the owner who said we had fallen behind, even though we had also let the 2 ball through.. How did he expect a four ball to keep pace with a 2 ball and a single player was beyond me. We won’t be visiting again. At 62 I don’t have the energy the younger players have . Other than that the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Value for money

Hainsworth park is a great course and perfect for beginners or the more experienced golfer.

Staff friendly, really good clubhouse and outdoor seating area.

Pace of play was smooth and no waiting around which is always a positive. The course is in desperate need of some rain though which can’t be helped obviously. Just club down on your approach shots to the green!

Nice round of golf

Greens were very heavily sanded, and slightly damp, so putting wasn't great as the balls picked up varying degrees of sand on the way. Other than that, genuinely enjoyable round of golf.

Cold but full greens!

For a January, a lot of courses in the area are on temp greens or just aren't in good conditions however, this course really holds up well. the bunkers were GUR but still looked in great condition - probably just because there was a bit of ice still around.

i shot 79 which is a PB for me and i left my vokey on the 15th. i reported to the staff who called me an hour after i left to say it had been handed in so a big Kudos to the honesty of the member who did that.

until next time (which will be soon!)

Slow play

Good enjoyable course an well laid out. The only let down is continous slow play an very poor etiquette when a 4 ball is playing slow an holding the 2 ball up they wont let you play through.
