Not bad for the price

A good day only spoilt by a ball nearly hitting one of my playing partners. Having teed off the first a single golfer teed up behind us, we let him through on the 3rd and then were hit into on the 4th by a two ball. We were still on the green when the ball bounced passed head high, I approached the two ball and although a slight apology followed I was told we were too slow.. we were then approached by the owner who said we had fallen behind, even though we had also let the 2 ball through.. How did he expect a four ball to keep pace with a 2 ball and a single player was beyond me. We won’t be visiting again. At 62 I don’t have the energy the younger players have . Other than that the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Value for money

Hainsworth park is a great course and perfect for beginners or the more experienced golfer.

Staff friendly, really good clubhouse and outdoor seating area.

Pace of play was smooth and no waiting around which is always a positive. The course is in desperate need of some rain though which can’t be helped obviously. Just club down on your approach shots to the green!

Nice round of golf

Greens were very heavily sanded, and slightly damp, so putting wasn't great as the balls picked up varying degrees of sand on the way. Other than that, genuinely enjoyable round of golf.

Cold weather
Walked

Cold but full greens!

For a January, a lot of courses in the area are on temp greens or just aren't in good conditions however, this course really holds up well. the bunkers were GUR but still looked in great condition - probably just because there was a bit of ice still around.

i shot 79 which is a PB for me and i left my vokey on the 15th. i reported to the staff who called me an hour after i left to say it had been handed in so a big Kudos to the honesty of the member who did that.

until next time (which will be soon!)

Slow play

Good enjoyable course an well laid out. The only let down is continous slow play an very poor etiquette when a 4 ball is playing slow an holding the 2 ball up they wont let you play through.

Lovely course

Another visit to Hainsworth and again it was in great conditions, very hot so good run on fairways and most greens were slick.

Only grumble was bar was closed at 4pm when we finished which was disappointing

Brilliant

Considering the amount of rain we've had recently the course played really well, even if I didn't. Really well kept. Fairways and greens in great condition. Rough was a bit juicy and swallowed a few balls but overall a great course

Excellent course - not so excellent pace

Absolutely fantastic course and given the rain/ wet weather, it has really held up well. All staff encountered were friendly and helpful and the club house has great food and drinks. Nice little warm up area before attacking the course. Just disappointing to have been 7 holes in playing as a solo player, to not be allowed to play through a very slow 4 ball. The previous 2 ball, 3 ball and 4 ball were fine and did the gentlemanly thing but for whatever reason, the next group wouldn’t. I wouldn’t mind but I bomb my drives 250 and would have been gone (and given they were only driving 150 yards). Ended up walking off the course after 12 holes as 25 mins a hole became far too slow. Probably better off playing later in the afternoon to give time for the course to clear next time I play there (and I will definitely play there again - through golf now or as a member!). Kudos to the course 🖖
