Irregular maintennace
Greens are spongy, patchy and covered in worm mounds and leaves. The seasons are changing but the greenkeepers aren't keeping on top of the greens, which are largely unplayable. Fairways are OK, but a little long.
The course represents good value for money but pace of play can be slow, with one fourball accompanied by four walkers, which was one of the slowest groups I've ever seen on a golf course.
The layout is interesting and not overly easy, and with a year's TLC the place could be a lot better than it is.
Good Sunday round
We played as a 3-ball, the pace of play was good, not waiting on any tee despite it being busy. Course was in okay condition, some greens would do with a bit of TLC. Cub house was friendly and a decent pint.
Great course layout that is a good challenge but a bit let down by the condition of the greens. They are very slow and a little scabby.
Surprisingly quiet for a Saturday
The course was in good condition barring a couple of greens (I know the 10th has been remodeled)
I enjoyed the round as the course is a challenge but not excessively long. The variety of challenges kept me on my toes (as did the trees either side of the fairway. Possibly on the pricy side compared to Sutton but aware it’s not council owned. I will play here again this month. Would love some bulk round offers.
Well kept
First time playing here today and I must say it’s a pretty decent course. You can see it is being looked after unlike others, some small dead patches on the greens but still a reslly nice course and greens. Friendly staff in the pro shop. Definitely be coming back next weekend
A work in progress
Lovely course but it's struggled last few years with all the wet weather, you can see the staff are trying their best but for the price they are having to charge it needs improving to compete with other local courses to me, such a shame really because I want it to succeed
Daz Atlas
We played on Saturday 9 May 3 ball. 3 ball jumped in front on the 10 th members. Great day fair ways pretty good. Greens need working on. But general good day. Will play there again. Next time the greens might have improved. Thanks
Great day of golf
First time visit & enjoyed the course. Weather was beautiful which made this course very playable. Great price for 18. Well sign posted to find your way round from tee to tee. Challenging as an intermediate player but can shoot a low score. Shop is well stocked & a bargain to be found. Very friendly staff. I will be back next month & quite often after that.
Great value for money
Green’s needed some work but excellent course for the money. Would definitely play again.
A basic course worth trying
Greens are a little run down over a very wet winter, and much of the course remained wet at the bottom of troughs. Staff aren't the most welcoming and it can be a little chaotic around the first tee. The course has lots of long holes, with many Par 4s. They have struggled with ground conditions which saw some fairways almost left as rough. Springhead Park is worth a trip out on a nice day as it is a working class inner-city course that has a unique atmosphere. There are however no ball cleaners to speak of.
Great local course.
Firstly let me say, the weather played a big part in the condition of the course however the gentlemen on the front desk fully explained the reasoning for the temp greens and tees. First time playing and love the layout! Great course for beginners and intermediate, plenty of wide fairways with just enough hazards to keep you thinking. The only question I had is over one of the temp greens right after a ditch which isn’t really spottable at a distance so if you try to lay up you could end up in water and have no idea until you get there. Fairly standard temp tees, and the temp greens were a little bit patchy and hard but given the time of year and the snow over the past few days, overall would recommend.
Decent course for price
First day back from Holiday, so not the best score but the course was fine for the end of September. Stuck behind a 5. & 4 ball, got passed the 5 ball but stuck behind the 4 ball for the last 12 holes so slow play.
Decent course for a golf game
Very well maintained course
Very good course always well maintained and a pleasure to play on. Only down side is loads of people sneak on for free and take ages in big massive groups that the staff should remove
Nice local course
Good course for beginners or those who just want a quick round.
Can get busy on Sundays so pace can be slow, plenty of challenges to overcome so each game is different.
