Decent course for price

First day back from Holiday, so not the best score but the course was fine for the end of September. Stuck behind a 5. & 4 ball, got passed the 5 ball but stuck behind the 4 ball for the last 12 holes so slow play.

Decent course for a golf game

Very well maintained course

Very good course always well maintained and a pleasure to play on. Only down side is loads of people sneak on for free and take ages in big massive groups that the staff should remove

Nice local course

Good course for beginners or those who just want a quick round.

Can get busy on Sundays so pace can be slow, plenty of challenges to overcome so each game is different.

We all want Springhead to be great…

It is in all of our best interests for this course to be amazing… atrocious pace of play and poor course conditions. Greens in a very bad way. Thought it would be better by now after all these years, but it is what it is… some things never change.

A Test of Patience, Not Skill - Avoid if You Value Your Time

I recently had the misfortune of playing today and can honestly say it was one of the most frustrating rounds of golf I've ever experienced. While the course could be somewhat enjoyable, the complete disregard for pace of play made it an exercise in extreme patience rather than a fun day on course,

From the very beginning, it was clear I was in for a slow one. It felt like every hole was backed up, but the absolute low point came on the 5th hole where I witnessed the astonishing sight of three separate groups actively playing the hole at the same time. This isn't just slow, it's a failure of course management and scheduling which resulted in me leaving at the 5th.

If you're looking for a quick round, or even just a reasonably paced round, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. Until they address their serious pace of play issues, I won't be returning.

Tatty

Played here Sunday afternoon was surprisingly quiet been a few years since played here and in my opinion the course looks tatty around the edges

Lack of definition between fairway and rough bunker edges not neat and greens not to bad a few bare patches due to the sun

Overall a good course but maybe a little more rough round the edges

Springhead golf course

Having not played here for a couple of years ,I was looking forward to playing . The course itself was OK, fairways as expected with the dry spell we have been having ,but it was the greens that let it down ,poor condition, large dead patches on at least 8 of them ,but having said that ,you are not paying the top price for a premium course ,overall I still enjoyed my round and would play it again

Average at best

Same old Springhead unfortunately. Just so average.

Tee box grass is too long, greens are dry and bumpy, some bunkers raked and some not, too much sand in some, not enough sand in others. Edges of bunkers look like they have been strimmed in months.

General layout is decent, and the rolling fairways make it interesting enough.

Temp tee on 10th ruins that hole.

Could be a good course. Buts it’s always been lacking in quality.

Not great

Visited here recently with a friend to play a round. The greens were in a terrible state as apparently crows have been at them, bald patches and dried/cracked ground on a lot of them so ball rarely rolls true.

They had some temporary greens up in places but these were somewhat overgrown and covered in weeds, so even with cups 3 times the size it was mostly luck if your ball got to the hole.

The layout is confusing and there are hardly any signposts or footpaths to indicate where to go, about half the holes your left trying to figure out where the next pin is.

Staff were friendly but the amenities are mediocre, pro shop is tiny and the club house feels almost like a pub in a car park. On top of all that the group Infront of us had a golfer playing in a wife beater tee and joggers, nothing against the guy, but it doesn't exactly instill confidence in a course with a supposed dress code.

The holes themselves were decent if you ignore the course conditions and confusing layout, so if it was well kept and better signposted it might be a decent course, but in it's current state I wouldn't want to play here again.

Only The Greens…..

Not played here for a while, joined up with a member after 3/4 holes, great guy. The course was in good condition, fairways and tee boxes cut. All of the surrounding trees/bushes well kept. The only issue was the greens, very poor and woolly. I understand there has been an issue and hopefully this will be resolved soon.

Greens in very poor condition

Overall the course is well kept but nearly all the green are knackered and will take so much work to get them back, such a shame as its got the potential to be a lovely course.
