10th hole, the only par 5 Photo submitted by u314160039333 on 09/29/2020
Agonisingly slow
Stuck behind a society of four balls, mid morning on a weekday. Took over 4 1/2 hours for us a two ball which absolutely destroyed the round. At several points there were three groups waiting on tees. The course was fair to middling. They're clearly working on it but it's not there yet. There are no facilities open on site so the toilet consists of a single portaloo without sanitation. It's an OK deal for the price, just don't expect too much.
Good value course
Haste Hill is a well priced course as it has all sorts of holes to play for either high or low handicapped players
So good to be out on a course again
Its very early since re-opening of golf courses, so we can't expect all to be perfect.
The tees and fairways are fine, but the greens are not yet running true. They are quite sandy and grooved, but will improve
The course is dry, as we have had little rain, so you can get good distance on a drive.
Overall, Haste Hill is a great course at the price. It provides a good test
Another round shortened by slow play
When I got to the tenth tee there was a two hole gap on the 14th and 15th holes. We then went back to the 15th tee so that we could carry on without more delays. I had the same problem last week and ended the round at the15th..The fairways are not in good condition from the wet winter and need rain to help the grass grow back. Some form of catering would be an improvement.
Enjoy Haste Hill
The course is challenging for all golfers, and apart from the bobbley-ness of a lot of greens, the course is in fantastic condition given the lengthy recent closures.
Excellent value for money for an early start, and myself and fellow players will be regular visitors over the Spring and Summer.
Well done to the staff- Lovely course.
great round
THIS IS A GREAT ALL ROUND TESTING COURSE FOR ALL ABILITIES. THE GROUND WAS A BIT SANDY IN PLACES ON THE GREENS WHICH MADE PUTTING DIFFICULT AT TIMES BUT GENERALLY UPKEEP WAS GOOD.
Haste Hill
The greens where in a poor state, very bobbly with lots of sand and grit on them. Lots of bare ground around the course, probably helped by the amount of dog walkers.
Needs rain
Greens patchy and very dry with lots of sand. Fairways need cutting and very patchy. The course needs a lot of watering. Normally in spring and summer the course is in good condition.
Its been a tough winter
Some of green more sand than grass.
Constant winter rain has prevented the ground staff to get on. They have tidied trees and bushes making of line deviations not as heavily punished.
Hopefully better spring weather and growing season will bring greens back.
Can't be beaten for value at £10 for 18 holes!
Course a mess
Greens really poor, a lot of drainage work being done around the greens. Considering the lay off and lack of use the course has not recovered from being open during very wet last year
Recommend for an improving golfer looking for a challenge
My first time playing here today. I did quite enjoy the day and the course it self. The course was a mixture of short par 3’s, drivable par 4’s and some longs par 4’s. The rough was a bit long, the fairways needed looking after as the were getting a bit long and some of the greens were in need of care. Some of the greens were a great length and grass conditions were ideal. The good ones had a great roll and some undulation. The others weren’t as good. Would recommend for an improving golfer looking for a challenge.
Signature Hole - 4th
Overall course conditions average purely due to players NOT repairing divots, or repairing pitch marks on greens. Otherwise features and layout not bad for a public course.
Layout makes up for the quality
The course has been tidied up during the pandemic but it needs a few weeks yet to see the greens improve. Should be back to its best after that.
