10th hole, the only par 5 Photo submitted by u314160039333 on 09/29/2020
Very good value for this beautiful course
Beautiful course, good value for money and impressive for a public track. Would recommend to all amateur players in the area. This is a challenging round even though there is only one par five hole. Tree lined fairways mean a straight tee shot is a must for a low score. If I had to pick a negative from today, it would be walkers on paths as this spot has several public paths through it.. on the whole 4 out of 5.. 5 out of 5 for value and scenery...
Really good condition public course
Course in probably in the best condition that I can recall for some time and considering the price and that it's a public course there is nothing to complain about.
Bunkers all very good now and have deep quality sand, fairways and rough - no complaints. Majority of tee boxes ok , few could do with a little TLC. Greens, again ok, could be better as they are currently highly sanded so difficult to get consistent role and to take expected breaks .
The course presents a decent challenge with in the main a very good variety of different types of hole and layout.
The round itself was a bit slow due to being held up behind two new(er) / higher handicap golfers for practically the entire round (and lets be honest none of us like waiting 5+ minutes on most holes just to tee off).
Whilst getting held up or indeed holding others up is part and parcel and we have to accommodate for players of all skill levels, it would just be nice if we all gave a little more thought to other players, showing a bit more eticut and letting faster players through when appropriate (as at the end of day guaranteed it will make it more enjoyable for all involved )
Staff on the whole very friendly and efficient, although reports of slow play (by others) were not followed up.
All in all a very enjoyable round of golf and I would definitely return to play again sooner rather than later.
Probably a bit biased buuuut......
So I do think this is as value goes fantastic value for money. Good course layout with some very challenging par 4s (and some very easy ones)
Great course in fantastic condition!
Have played this course for a number of years and it was back to looking at its best. It was wonderful to get out and have a game of golf after this Covid 19 lock down. Easy to book and we’ll handled at the the actual course when you arrive and staff were excellent.
Great course for all handicaps
Just wanted to leave a positive review as I feel the negative ones aren’t justified. Either they’ve made efforts to improve the course or people just had a bad day. The bar was shut though.
Haste hill
Played this course a few times today it was like a farm hardly no grass on the fairways the greens have just been re-sanded just very poor condition very neglected A lot of the bunkers will restricted Teebox is very very poor
Course was in reasonable condition however lots of traffic on meant round was a bit slow.
First and last time playing.
Terrible course, more grass and weeds in the bunkers than on the greens. Most of the front 9 greens look like building site with pallets of artificial turf which has been abandoned.
Old holes capped with a fake grass lid which has sunk so you have to putt over a sunk hole.
Would be embarrassed to the course manager.
Plus side pro shop staff were very nice
Great course for mid handicappers
I play 20
I love haste hill because it is a well designed variable course - no doing laps here. There is only one 5 par but a couple of the 4's are long so you need to keep in the fairway and out of the ditches. I recommend a 3 or 5 wood off a few of the tees. The 6th is one of my favourite holes on any course and I like the 9 and 18.
I scored it down on condition because there are a couple of bunkers that have been in construction for as long as I have played there but otherwise the fairways are good and the greens are nice.
For a late afternoon game Haste Hill is top value and a really nice playable course
great 1st time on course
Had a great time playing this course,.Are you sure tghis is not a private course.
Course in great condition
beautiful looking
Public course under renovation
Good day out enjoying the late light hours Spring is throwing at us.
Mixed feelings on the golf course, currently undergoing under major renovation with many bunkers and tree over-grown being done. Hope this investment will pay off on the future (even though not happy on works done on the 4th, a difficult challenging hole being turned to easy and forgettable one due to cutting too much).
However the major reworks is seems to have a major effect on the day-to-day care, greens in some bad condition and grass over-growing where should not remarkably around greens.
Haste Hill used to be the best public course of the area, hope they come back to their standards once renovation finishes.
