Great course
Heaton Moor Golf Club is a well maintained course with polite and friendly staff and members. There are many challenging holes and for beginners and pros alike. Worth a visit if you have never played. When I last played it was just after all the storms and the course played long obviously but was still in a good condition. Playing off mats from the fairway to protect the course during the wet conditions. Still it was good to be out playing golf in the later summer afternoon.
Get your wellies out
Not the best time of year to play a course that doesn't drain well. The greens were great still but that was the only highlight. We (2 ball) were waiting on a few holes to be let through with no success. 2 guys infront of us skipped a few holes to get ahead of a slow 2 and 4 ball. Front nine is alot better than back nine which just seems to loop back and forth. They are doing alot of work on the 1st greenside bunker to the left. This hole should be played shorter as it's a danger to them if hitting driver off the tee as it's such a short opening hole. Only played it as it's local and got it at a cheap price in the afternoon. Probably wouldn't return as there are to many short par 4's.
Great Afternoon
A great course with a fun layout. Good conditions considering the recent Summer rain. Look forward to beating my score next round already!
A fair test of golf
I really enjoyed the course and would definitely score much better if I played it again. Plenty of doglegs to negotiate - a good few ditches too. Lovely and peaceful with little or no road noise - just birdsong and ball thwacks!
Nice course
Really enjoyed my first outing of the year. Although when I booked, winter mats not mentioned. However still enjoyed and had a decent round. Highly recommended
Review Feb23
Was a member many years ago and decided to give it a re-visit. Course in great condition, greens excellent as were (unfortunately) all the bunkers.
We booked on the hot deal, it was excellent value. Despite it being frosty we played on the normal greens, which were in very good condition taking into account the time of year.
The catering and bar staff were all very friendly.
Wet and Wild
When you play golf in January, its going to be wet!
The course was open and we got 17 holes in (10th closed)
The walk was great across what is 2 nine hole courses
Would definitely play again in the summer
Too expensive for time of year and course condition
The course was waterlogged and was on temp greens. This is not totally surprising for the time of year and the amount of rain we have had.. but the price I paid I was assuming the course was better draining and therefore that’s what you were paying for. Really disappointed.. probably won’t go back
Slowest round of golf of my life
3 moody old blokes in front of us, who spent about 2 hours on each hole, when asked if we could play through they answered no due to them being members there. We were a 2 ball and it took us just under 5 hours due to the slowest people in front of us. Course is boring with no nice features. Tee boxes are in terrible nick and to top it all off we had the green keeper who was most likely intoxicated flying round the greens when we were attempting to putt for the first 9 holes. Would not return

For the amount of rain which had fallen in the two weeks preceding our round the course was win great condition with not tees closed or any winter greens.
