Not good
Booked this and was not told 3 holes were closed
Course has been under water for some time in a bad way would not play here again
great course
arrived 10 minutes before tee time had 5 minutes on the practice putting green then went to the first tee.having teed off on time caught the four ball in front of me who asked me to play through which i thought was good of them .i then continued to enjoy the course which was in great condition. thoroughly enjoyed the round and credit must be given to the green staff for the excellent condition of the course will look forward to returning.
Great day
8am tee time - sun blazing
Just opening and was very friendly
Course looked amazing and was in very good condition.
Fairways and the first cut were cut wonderfully.
Greens very good condition
The course itself was well done, channel of trees either side most holes, par 3s were done amazing.
Very tough back 3/4 which made fun.
Price for quality is unbelievable
I recommend this heavily
Beware of the sting in the tail!
An excellent easy walking parkland course, with the best greens in the area, well presented all year round and the toughest finish in South Manchester.
The course puts a premium on driving accuracy with many tree lined fairways Whilst not excessively long the course is hard to score well on especially on the back nine.
There is gentle start with a par three of 155 yds but its all carry with a stream and bunkers protecting the front of the green.
When you get to the fifth par five, there is danger on every shot with out of bounds left off the tee, and a decision to be made on the second shot for the bigger hitters to carry the picturesque pond or lay up.
The eighth is a 180 yd par 3 with a severely sloping green, correct club choice is key here .
The 13th and 14th have the river Mersey bank on the right waiting to collect wayward drives
We now approach what Withington call "The Stretch" the most testing finish to any course in the area. A 575 yd par 5 16th followed by two 440 yd par fours with tight tree lined fairways. Its very easy to finish with three bogeys or worse.
The pro staff manged by Steve Marr are friendly and welcoming, and the the ground staff do a great job maintaining this course in good condition year round.
The members are renowned for the welcome and friendliness to visitors and this is continued by the bar and catering staff in the clubhouse. A warm welcome is always guaranteed here, even if a bogey free card isn't!
Fantastic Course
Withington must be right up there with the best greens in England, great course , really enjoyed it and will be back soon

Cracking course with a good layout
Something for everyone regardless of ability
For November the course is in good condition but beware with it being a parkland course there are plenty of leaves lying around.
The last 3 holes are as tough a finishing stretch that you will find on any golf course
Well worth a visit we were made welcome and amenities were great and at £15 for a Sunday afternoon great value for money
Very Good Roundat Withington
Good round all told - winter tees full greens in great nick - course in above average condition - good reception in pro shop -
Enjoyable round
Didn't enjoy a number of the tees being replaced with mats, but apart from that the greens were in excellent condition and given the time of year the overall course was good.
withington
course was in excellent condition a credit to the green staff for their hard work everything about the course was first class a pleasure to play will be returning
Cracking golf course
Challenging course for me but really enjoyed our day out. Will definitely be coming back soon enough and would recommend to any of my mates. Cheers.
Great course
Excellent course, tree lined holes, all different. Great greens.
Good layout, and very flat but challenging.
Played on a lovely sunny day. The course had dried out and was in good condition. Greens were a little bumpy but put this down too it being a Sunday and they hadn't been cut. Overall very enjoyable.
Bland course
Played Sunday afternoon 4ball after 4ball would not let this single golfer through very slow hackers in front of me course a mud bath absolutely awful a waste of money even at £13
Great day at Withington
The club was recommended to us by a gentleman who lives in the area, and it proved to be a great start to our golfing trip in the north west. Entertaining layout with a good mix of short and tricky holes requiring precision, with long and wide ones for the long hitters. Tees, fairways and greens are in pristine conditions; greenkeepers discreetly at work hand-grooming bunkers which were also a joy to play.
Very helpful proshop and restaurant staff made us feel very welcome.
The course was extremely busy with members from local and a visiting club, but we never had to wait, infact we learned a thing or two about pace of play.
Higly recommended.
Classic Parkland Golf Course
This was a last minute decision after playing links seaside courses all week. Close to the Manchester airport was what brought it to our attention. This is a classic parkland style golf course with fairways well defined by trees, a few well placed bunkers, and limited water in play. What you see is what you get and that is not a bad thing. Course conditions were good and pace OK even though there was not heavy play that day what play there was slightly on the slow side for my liking.
Golf cancelled
Due to adverse weather conditions heavy rain and gails sadly we were unable to play given we were unable to play we should be refunded or at the very given the opportunity to play again
Flat course well kept
Bit flat and perhaps a bit too plain for some people but greens and fairways in superb condition.
