Amazing course
First time playing hessle golf club. Best course I've played around the East yourkshire area. Fairways and greens were well maintained. Course layout was great. Not many courses have trees lining the sides of each hole but hessle did. made it hard work if you didn't hit the fairways but that certainly isn't a criticism, made it more enjoyable. Look forward to playing it again in the near future
Hessle golf course
Beautiful course in excellent condition. The. Price on golf now really e well worth it.
Best course in the area
I’ve played a few times over the years but not often, the course has generally been good but seems to have improved over the last 2 years.
Beautiful course
First time playing hessle golf course. Beautiful course greens in superb condition. Really enjoyed the round. Definitely recommend.
Excellent Course
Friendly welcome and delightful course to play. Played at 3.pm and course was very quiet. A challenging course in a superb location.
Greens!
Lovely course you want to be top of your game to play as the greens are a challenge to hold on and read. The latter is good, the former could be remedieed a bit by watering when they are as rock hard as they were. They are some of the best greens anyway that dont need this added difficulty for anyone 5+
Really well kept challenging course.
Lovely course and good quality true greens even for the time of the year. Highly recommend giving it a go.
Good condition for time of year
Really enjoyed our round. Course is currently under going a lot maintenance ie tree surgery and drainage work. Despite this, it did not spoil the golf.
Friendly day out.
The course was in very good condition on full greens in play and at a good pace.
The tees were forward but that wasn't a problem at this time of year. The only letdown were the mats on the par 3's which had no facility to use a tee peg.(a bit petty but hey it's a review) we played the back 9 first and as we approached the front nine there were 4-4 balls of members waiting to tee off but they let us straight through and we were asked if we minded if we could be joined by 2 of them who were very accommodating and gave us an insight into the layout.
Overall a very nice day out with good company and facilities.
Very disappointed!
After reading several good reviews myself and a friend shelled out £24 each to play Hessle. The pro in the starters hut was very rude and treated us like we were second class because we booked on Teeofftimes. He then told my friend off for having his polo shirt outside his trousers (it was one of the hottest days of the year). We got started and the course was in good condition, but boring, just up and down with very few interesting or challenging holes. We started in the afternoon, so finished after 5.00pm, when we tried to get out we found a huge electronic gate had been closed, and the notice said that if you didn't know the combination to open the gate you would be charged £20 to get out. Luckily a member was nearby and took pity on us. We will not be going back, it is clearly a course intended for Members Only and anyone else is made to feel very uncomfortable. I also know many more interesting course in the East Riding that charge half the price and are very friendly. Try Brandesburton or Ganstead.
November golf Hessle
Course in great condition with one hole closed for drainage works, with par three temp hole in place. Played several times over years and always find it a test of golf
Pretty course
Pretty course which is very well maintained. Challenging greens. Well worth the money paid (£20 each for a 2 ball on tee off times).
Good day
Really decent days golf , played here quite a few times (and really like it ) but not for over a year as can be very pricey in summer . Hole 2 par 3 was closed for maintenance so a provisional hole was in place before no 10 which was ok but distance wise was a guess , , could of been told b4 going out . Greens in good nick for time of year (some quick some slow) on the whole it’s a course that is well worth playing but maybe bring the price down in summer as other courses as good that’s cheaper
