Enjoyable course

The course was in decent condition for the time of year and the amount of rain we have had. The greens were in good condition and surprisingly quick. 4 if the holes were shortened due to the damp conditions but this did not effect our enjoyment of the course. There was a bit of a pace of play issue and we did have to wait on a few tees but the sun was shining so we didn't mind. Nice bar and facilities. The bar prices were very high as you would expect in a Hilton Hotel.

Unsure

Interesting day out, A note for those visiting that booking online or golfnow is cheaper than paying at the clubhouse..?The lad in the pro shop wouldn't match the price on the golfnow app in the clubhouse which was a bit strange. £20 for the round would be good value; £30 not so much. Very slow pace of play, took 5 and a bit hours to get round as a 2 ball both playing off 15. Course in good condition, bit wet in places to be expected. 3/4 interesting holes, Greens were in good shape. Parking was a bit of a nause to sort. Worth a round but nothing to shout about!

2 Ball Pickrup round mid winter

Course was in excellent condition and we enjoyed our round. We are high handicap players but didn't find the course overly difficult. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Beyond expectations

I thought I'd try my luck and try 18 holes here.

I was expecting the course to be struggling due to the weather as everywhere has been frozen of late but, with time to kill I wasn't too worried.

I was greated by a friendly gentleman on reception who confirmed my booking and away I went.

There is a net to warm up with on the way to the first tee. There is also a driving range and a practice green on site too but, I didn't use these today.

Yes there were 4 winter tee boxes and most of the bunkers had some frozen water in but this did not dampen my experience here at all.

The course condition was fantastic, and the layout of the course is lovely, with testing par 3's and a plethora of well place bunkers it provides a genuine test for all levels. Shot selection and shaping is definitely tested.

This is definitely one of the best courses I've been to and I would love to come back to play it later on in the year.

Credit to the green staff 👍

I managed to squeeze all 18 holes in just before we lost the light, the round took just over 4 hours with a few pauses on a couple of tee boxes.

An absolute pearler of a course,

Winter Course - Great Frozen Fun!!

We played the winter course in freezing conditions after checking three times that the course was actually going to be open. The team assured us they would be open and the course was magnificent, if a little challenging with greens playing like concrete. That the course was open at all was a credit to the team and we had one of the funniest and unusual round of golf that many of us have ever experienced. Thank you to the team at Pucker-Up!

Interesting & challenging

January 2nd was cold, but bright and dry. We were on winter holes, which meant 4 of the holes were reduced to par 3 tees, which we didn't know until arrival. Consequently there was quite a lot of walking between the green and the next tee. Both of us are single figure handicap players, our first time here. We followed a 3 ball who were all over the course, but that didn't affect the speed of play, very acceptable. The course is well laid out with an emphasis on positioning of the tee shot, often needing to avoid trees or overhanging branches. The fairways were wide with strategic bunkering, and some water hazards, requiring careful thought. The greens were very acceptable for winter conditions with no temporary greens. Some of the greeens have challenging slopes, with a couple of MacKenzies to negotiate. Thoroughly enjoyable so have already planned to visit again in the summer.

The Course and Venue were perfect.

I booked a 2 Ball - So Father and Son could enjoy a round together and catch up.

I was told at the venue that Golf now had since paired us up with 2 others-now a 4ball

Very unhappy... will not use Golf now again!!!

Great Course

Puckrup is a great place for a round of golf. The greens are well maintained and run true, the fairways are reasonably wide and the grass cut to a fair length. Not sure what the trench half way along 9 is about - it certainly doesn’t seem to collect water ever.

I would recommend the course but not to too many people as I don’t want it to become too busy!!!

Nice course, good value

Course is pretty friendly for beginner/higher handicap golfers. Not too much trouble but nicely placed hazards that make you consider the risk v reward of your next shot. Was in excellent condition tee to green and pace of play was good, round in 3.5 hours. Definitely be back to play again in the future.
