Great selection of dog leg's great position of bunkers and great greens
Short course but challenging
Enjoyed the round, stay on fairways as rough is tough in places. Very slow play from members ahead but overall good course.
Greens
The greens are bobbly at present fairwYs are ok apart from irrigation holes into which one of the balls ran.
Nice course, greens not brilliant.
Chosen as a mid way point to meet a mate. We were not advised by pro shop to start on 10th, found out by chance. Greens are not in the best condition but rest of course was as expected for time of year. No course guides available but fortunately very few blind shots for first timers.
Cracking
Played at Hurtmore last minute, booking the day before not knowing a lot about the course, and we couldn’t be happier. Played as a 2 ball with a 2:30 tee, course was reasonably busy but the pace of play was class, people let us through and everyone was really nice. It was a sunny day and the course was lovely, the greens were challenging and the fairways were beautifully cut. The clubhouse was nice with some good beers on draught, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Couldn’t recommend the course more.
First round for a while!
I like the course. It's challenging but not too many monster long holes. I always enjoy playing here. The putting surfaces were not that good today. A bit bumpy and maybe the grass a tad long, so difficult to judge putts. Otherwise, the course was in good condition. Though without raking, the bunkers can be more challenging than normal. Some golfers were quite slow, including playing off white tees when they were hitting it 70-90 yards. We were playing as a two-ball and no one offered to let us play through. It was not so much of a problem as it was a nice day but it did add at least a half an hour to our round!
Green fees
A friend & I like the course very much but feel the costs of a round has gone up dramatically. We are looking to find an alternative course as we travel twelve miles to play.
What have they been doing for the last three months?
Hurtmore is open to visitors and costs under £30 a round. That’s the positives. The greens are covered in some grass eating disease, the bunkers are all different sands and levels, the fairways and rough look like they’ve been roughly cut by the council. While other courses have used the down time to prepare themselves for a busy year the owners at Hurtmore appear to have taken the approach of just trying to make money from unsuspecting visitors and beginners. Not a fitting tribute to the late great Peter Alliss who designed it.
A family favorite
Course was great, greens were rough and slow and need so more attention.
A family favorite with my Dad and son. Good round pace considering it was busy. The pair ahead would be putting as we were starting on the tee so quite usual for a Surrey course.
A pair of grumpy old men behind us, also usual for Surrey.
Facilities and pro shop open but with limited use due to covid. No seating inside of course but really nice to be back out playing golf again.
Recommended if you want an open but testing course and not expecting Wentworth or the RAC.
Windy and snow but good
Course was a nice short course with many sub 300yard par 4s. Greens could have been in better condition given a winter without players., Being behind 3 golfers who did not know that etiquette is to let a two ball pass through if you are looking for a ball and somewhat wayward did not help the pace of play. Overall though a nice course that I would ret=urn to.
Small, short, busy, and tired
Very short track even from the whites. Lots of short driveable 4s. Holes feel very crammed in - some very narrow fairways adjacent to other holes. Considering the course hadn't been in play for over 3 months the greens were shocking - tined, covered in seed and sand- not uncommon to see the ball bobble into the air when putting. Clubhouse was nice, but there are far better options about .
Nice open course
This course is reasonably flat with wide fairways and is very forgiving. Perfect for someone who isn’t a long hitter or a beginner. The course conditions were as good as can be expected at this time of the year. Well worth playing for the money.
