Enjoyable as usual
Lovely course well maintained. Always welcomed by staff. Great bacon and egg roll to kick the morning off. Highly recommended
Lovely women friendly course
Hurtmore is always a pleasure to play. It's a nice length with enough challenge. A course that is enjoyable winter and summer. As an older woman golfer I find it suits me very well.
Love this course during the winter months always walkable without getting too muddy . Some work going on but will add to the course
Slow Slow Slow
We waited an hour for breakfast(problem with the till sending orders to the kitchen) and the bloke serving needs to learn some manners, then it took an hour to play the first 3 holes we gave up after nine and anyone starting after us would never have a chance of completing 18 and the fairways have very little grass left, all in all we wish we hadn,t bothered.
course in good condition green keepers must of spent weeks on the bunkers everyone perfect with plenty of sand.
Great Greens but mediocre tees
The course was well presented and has been improved in the last 18 months or so. On the face of it is a pretty fair course but there are a couple of holes to catch you out, in particular the 3rd and the 15th. On this day the greens were in good condition but the tees were poor with hardly a flat tee off position to be found. This has long been an issue with this course but it would be nice if they could address this, even some of the worst ones would help. Having said that overall this course represents value for money in my eyes.
Ideal course to perfect your short game
Probably a bit biased,I'm off 9 and shot one over after a double on the first!! Plenty of short par 4's therefore wedging and chipping plays a big part of the round. The greens are superb for mid September and can make you look foolish if you're putting isn't on it!!! Fairways are in great nick and you're rewarded if you get your tee shot away, I thoroughly recommend giving Hurtmore a visit and the course provides a challenge for golfers of all levels. Friendly atmosphere in the clubhouse afterwards and and some cracking deals on the sale rack in the shop, I kitted myself out for the winter. Great day was had by all !!
Great value
The course is short but in really nice condition and morning golf for £17 is really a bargain. Staff were all friendly as were the members.
Puzzled
Course in good condition, but l can't understand why the 16th holes is a temporary tee box. I think l could count on 1hand in the last couple of years when we've teed off the grass.
Variety Course
Interesting course with a variety of holes. Some uphill, some downhill holes, a few holes with water (18th nerve racking). The greens this week were in very good condition.
not bad
not a bad course at all if you want a nice pleasant game of golf. Not difficult course by any means but value for money
Great Short Course
8 of us enjoyed a great game on this well kept friendly venue.
Open course
The course is quite forgiving and open which certainly helps for some shots! The tee areas need some work but overall good value for money nice course
Short and forgiving, but excellent condition.
We played a mid-week 3 ball in possibly the worst conditions of the year. Despite the torrential downpours the course was in fantastic condition, the fairways remained dry and there were only a few greens that held tiny amounts of standing water.
But the course is simply tiny, even off the back tees. There are a handful of par 4s that are driveable for even an average hitter and another few in range for the big hitters, none of which particularly punish a wayward attempt. Employing shorter flagsticks to make the hole seem further away did not fool anyone, either.
All this being said, we thoroughly enjoyed the course and will definitely be returning. It was a great confidence booster for the 28 handicapper in our group to be able to have a few birdie putts.
The staff and the food in the club house were great.
Great Course
Hurtmore golf club is a great course even if it is shorter than most others. It has its own challenging holes with tight dog legs left and right. Even in the winter the greens are in good condition and very rarely gets water logged. Dispute not have a driving range the indoor simulator is great and very well priced.
Highly recommend!!
Not a bad course but too short for my liking.in good condition for time of year.
