A well priced course which drains extremely well, not far off playing on concrete
Really enjoyed my evening here tonight. A last minute booking a more that reasonable price. The course is one of the best draining ones I've ever played. The course is very well maintained and the greens ran well. Considering that we have had quite a mix of weather lately. All was bone dry bar the back left bunker of the 16th hole. I would have very little concern playing here in winter.
There are a lot of drivable par fours which give you a real ego boost if you actually manage to hit a good tee shot. My only real concern is that some of the holes are slightly close together so wayward drives could be treacherous. Walking between the second and third tee. A ball flew over my head and into the water from which I could only work out came from people teeing off on the ninth. I wouldn't have heard a shout from there if they did call out because of the hill dividing. Other than that, A real peach of a find. Would definitely recommend and would play again.
Value for money
I come from Brighton but did not mind travelling so far to play at this course. Found the staff very pleasant and helpful and the course was in very good condition. Also, being non hilly is just what I like. Plenty of challenging holes with bunkers galore and water hazards. Definitely recommend this course.
Great course.
Played here for the first time Friday & really enjoyed it, enjoyable mix up of holes & the greens & fairways were in great condition. Will definitely be playing here again.
Slow going
What do you expect being a single player on a sunny sunday afternoon - slow play just because there are a lot of people out on the course. I got myself some extra putting and chipping practise between holes.
I didn't expect to a see a 6 ball playing on the back 9 !!
Hurtmore
Course conditions okay but course a little boring and clubhouse soulless
Thoroughly Enjoyed My Visit
I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Hurtmore, apart from wrecking my card taking 5 to get out of a tricky bunker behind the 18th green! Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Will look forward to playing here again
Great short course
Great course with plenty of short par 4s, good for improving the short game as a few have ideally placed hazards.
Ground and greens were unbelievably firm given the weather we’ve had over the last week. Would recommend….
Course for all year golf
Course is in very good condition.
Tricky greens.
Welcoming and friendly club.
Good little coarse
A fairly short coarse with one or two exceptions.
Good greens, but not fast.
Decent overall but wouldnt want to pay too much to play again. Would go back again- enjoyable
Slow Pace
Such a shame very frustrating two three balls in front of us two! Constantly up behind them but was not asked to go through which is golf etiquette when they were so slow.
A gem of a course
Such a picturesque course with a great variety of interesting holes. I loved it for this reason & for the high number of short par 4's for my pathetically short drives of under 200 yards. Not a long hitters course unless you want eagle putts on several par 4's.
Two particularly slow groups recognised this and invited players through, so I cannot wait to play again this cleverly designed course by the legendry Peter Alliss.
Only nets to practise in, but a very friendly welcome thank you.
