Great value for money
Beautiful course definitely requiring a buggy if you struggle with hills. In great condition, even considering it’s used by a lot of walkers. Despite this, a great place to play. Some challenging holes. Quiet with friendly golfers happy to allow quicker players through. Would highly recommend and will definitely go back.
Very good course
A good course for a municipal course. Only negatives were no rakes in bunkers and slow pace of play which can happen anywhere
Sunday morning @ Lickey
For a council course, it was great !
Period !!
And I got to play on a Sunday morning, with less than a day's booking !
Course review
Outstanding course. Greens we’re in excellent condition, and the continuous removing of the low branches and clearing definitely speeds up the game. The only issue are the bunkers could do with refreshing.. Otherwise, highly recommend playing.
Hidden gem
Very nice course, picturesque, value for money will definitely be back again soon
Barely worth the £15
The problem is the parent company, MyTime, simply do NOT invest in the upkeep of any of the courses within Birmingham. With regard to Lickey Hills, the greens are what fairways should be, the fairways are just short of being the first cut of rough, the greens are “fluffy”
Anything more than £15 for 18 holes is not worth it, in my opinion, especially when other private clubs charge £40/£50 & £80 for immaculate course conditions
Perfect for a beginner
The course was good, i played through 3/4 groups as i was playing on my own. the fairways and tee boxes were well kept, the green were in average condition. Great cheap course to go and play if you have a few hours to kill.
Beautiful
Don't be fooled by the yardage, some really difficult holes. Course was in good condition, except for the bunkers!! Greens were good, though hard to judge. Some were very slow and others at lot faster. Only real gripe was people just ambling up the middle of the fairways, otherwise very enjoyable.
Great Course for a municipal
In the right conditions this course is wonderful to play, however it suffers from vandalism from the local yobs who delight in stealing the flags, mats, tee markers and anything that isn't screwed down. There are lots of walkers around the course who, on the whole are most courteous but in the school holidays you can get gangs of kids roaming around.
Play at the right time and it's a delight, the wrong time, be prepared for anything!!
Good range of holes
I have been to this course 3 or 4 times now so thought I’d write a review. I like this course there is a good range of holes. Some are challenging especially the holes that are up hill such as the 11th and 17th. Beware it is fun going downhill but tough uphill not recommended for the unfit. Fairways are forgiving for a beginner like myself as they are wide so a shanked tee shot and you will still be on fairway. The course before covid was in good condition and still is, would recommend an afternoon tee as there can be a hold up on par 3’s, 4th and 8th especially.
Lickey Hills GC
Bit of a quirky course - some par 5s longer than some par 4s. Some of the bunkers were missing a rake. I confronted a couple of teenagers who were walking a dog across a green and letting the dog play in a bunker and received a mouthful of abuse! Relatively enjoyable round but I’ve played better courses for less money
Nice day for it although slow
Course was in good condition and the weather certainly helped but slow getting round. Public courses seem to struggle with letting golfers through which ends up with a lot of waiting
Lickey hills
Friendly service when we got to the course, got onto the 1st tee on time. There were no hold ups and pace of play was good, my only gripe was the amount of divots on the fairways. People seem to forget that they should replace so that next time they play the course would be in better condition.
Beautiful course
Have played Lickeys many times and always have an enjoyable round. Played on a very cold, bright day and the views were outstanding. The course has a a wide variety of types of holes and some are quite challenging - needing a very accurate tee shot to be in with a chance of saving par.
Very good and Has the potential to be even better
Fairways were great , tidy little course however greens were very slow and bobbly
That's a strange comparison comparing a £15 product to a £40/£50/£80 product
