Good course
Conditions were good given the drought. Greens still soft but everywhere else rock solid. Layout is good with the back 9 being very different to the front 9. Chipping green, putting green, and bunker area all in good condition.
Slow pace
I was playing on my own but guys in front of me wont allow me to play through. Some poor ethic.
Hot stuff
In very hot weather we enjoyed the round of golf, the course layout being appealing and every hole separate. Lots of woodland made for pleasant scenic Golf. The greens were in very good condition despite the firm ground.
First rate and interesting course greens in excellent condition
Excellent greens interesting and varied layout enjoyable
Not far from being a really good course
The course, like most places at the moment, is baked dry. It’s a really decent test of hitting and keeping the ball controlled as some holes are quite sloped and will throw your ball one way or another. The greens were good, but slow, as I assume the GKs are not cutting them too short in the present heat. Bunkers were OK. I would think a proper tree maintenance plan is required to remove a lot of trees that don’t need to be there and this could be turned into a really decent track. I love horse racing so it’s always cool to walk across the racetrack and play 12-16. I would recommend Lingfield to anyone, especially if you hit the ball straight as you would do well.
Very enjoyable round
Got there early was allowed to go straight on as not too busy 4,ball in front but got some extra putting practice but no long waiting time course was in good order very enjoyable round
Really interesting course
An interesting course, with 11 holes on the east of the racecourse - flat to rolling - with one particularly tricky par 4 (#3) with a green surrounded by water. You then cross the racecourse and then play another hilly 5 holes, before returning to the east, with the two final holes running back to the racecourse grandstand. Other stand out holes include #12 which climbs up to a blind green and #17 which curves left to right, tightening. Course was in fair condition, although the eastern holes are showing the impact of 6 weeks with no rain.
Lack of grass !
The fairways had a severe lack of grass on them with many a shot being played off mud , the greens were all covered in sand and overall a real shame that the course is in this condition. It was Easter Sunday and it was not busy which is hardly surprising.
