Slow round
Greens had recently had maintenance and were a little bumpy but looked as if normly they would be reasonable.
Good course let down by slow play
Great challange
Loved playing the course, found it challenging as a beginner but mostly open fairways and needed to think about course management because of the amount of bunkers. Loved it though! Could have done with a buggy but only because I was feeling a bit lazy but none available. Ce la vi right… I’d play again happily. It was also race day so got to see some horse racing too. Great value coffee too. Weather could have been better but that’s not the clubs fault, just England.
Disappointed
I have played this course several times and there is always maintenance being carried out' with mowers traversing fairways tees and greens being cut, it really is quite off putting especially yesterday when the fairways and some tee boxes were being shaved to within an inch of their lives, we had to fight through a dust storm kicked up by a mower on the 4th hole while the 5th tee box was being scalped. Also so many trees being cut down! why? It's a shame because I really like the course, probably give it a miss for a while
Great find
Played this for the first time and it was great. Some truly spectacular holes and a nice blend of forest and parkland. Didn't feel rushed and some nice water features.
Nice and smart and running parallel and through the race course adds interest.
Nice course, good condition
Nice variety of holes, some challenging for high handicapper, but some more open.
Good value, very sandy greens.
Played here with a mate the other day. We had a good time and the course condition was overall pretty good! Greens were very sandy which was a shame, although did give me an excuse for my dodgy putting!
Good basic course
3rd time I’ve played this course and it’s a nice course. Nothing amazing but also not too easy. Some great holes on it, especially the 17th!
For the price you really can’t complain, but the greens weren’t running well (they had been sanded too) and there were areas where the grass wasn’t brilliant.
Would still recommended, and we are likely to play it again
At £20.99, fantastic value
I'm an 18 handicapper, I don't need tour level courses to enjoy a game, I prefer value for money. I've played here twice, 1 pm tee offs for £20. At that price, it's very good value for a player of my level. I wouldn't be impressed if I'd paid the top end prices of £40+, as I've played better condition courses all summer around West Sussex. But for £20 it's the best value 18 holes in the area
Great layout and good condition
I have played the course many times and keep coming back. It is a good challenge with some challenging holes. The condition of the greens and tee boxes was good and the pace of play excellent; 2 ball got around in 3 hours 20 minutes. However, my major complaint was the professionalism of some of the grounds staff. On more than one occasion they were raking bunkers right in front of my line and driving around whilst we were hitting shots. This was all despite the fact that the course was very quiet. Such a shame as it tarnished what was, other than that, an excellent round.
Fantastic course and great staff
The staff in the bar and pro shop were great. The course was busy with a competition so they were working with the other groups to get them out first. Value for money was excellent from the golf through to the bar menu. We will 100% be back but this time we will coincide the golf with an overnight stay and a bit of racing.
Enjoyed the golf but eat before you go!
Good value golf course. Not very busy but in pretty good condition. I will probably come again but I still can't believe that the restaurant/bar did not serve food between 10.30am and Noon. We arrived at 11am with an 11.40 tee time and having driven for 75 minutes from Kent, we planned to get a breakfast/brunch at the club. It sounds incredible in this day and age that apparently, the chefs were preparing for lunch and stopped serving after 10.30! How difficult is it to knock up three bacon sandwiches for Christ's sake!? You could have nicked another £30 off us and this would have been a five star review.
I hope the management reads this review and changes this nonsensical policy. If you want people to travel to your golf club, then they are not likely to want to go out on to the course hungry. Over-priced crisps and a KitKat did not fill the void...

Worth it
Spontaneously found this course on GolfNow and loved it from the moment you turn off the road onto the property. Holes are challenging and nothing boring about each and every hole… will definitely be back
Monsoon golf
It was unfortunate that our British summer weather hit so that we could only complete 10 holes. The greens were flooded and we had to walk in. Course seemed generally ok though
lingfield
Course in good condition, the greens were fast even though we had had lots of rain yesterday. Some of the flag holes still had water to drain away.
In very good nick
This course is tight for the 1st 6holes and then becomes longer. However course at the moment is playing quite a bit shorter off both yellow and white tees. Why? Because tees moved up.
Green are medium to quick and fairway are defined by the trees and bushes. Keep it straight and you'll score well. Stray and you have a good chance of your ball being list in the trees/bushes. Bunkers are a mix, lots of thin grained sand but in patches quite bare..Needs a good raking.
On the whole a tough challenge. Would love to play its full length.
